Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America. Death and grief are inevitable in our human experience . Last evening I attended a heartwarming, inspirational fundraiser for The Parmenter Foundation . Will Reeve, son of actors Christopher and Dana Reeve, spoke about his personal journey of grief after losing both his parents within 18 months as a young teen (12/13). His insights were vulnerable and ultimately hopeful .

We are fortunate here in MetroWest Boston to have The Parmenter Foundation providing extensive resources and support for end of life and bereavement programs. Reach out to them if you need their help.

Will Reeve was just shy of three years old when his father, actor, director and activist Christopher Reeve, was paralyzed in a horseback riding accident. When Will was 12 years old, his father died of complications from an infection. 18 months later, his mother, Dana Reeve, an actress and singer, died of lung cancer. Will has navigated life, from high school to college to a successful career in broadcast journalism, while carrying that grief with him.
