This cat did not just win a contest. He won with one of the greatest names ever submitted.

A longhair cat from Benton, Arkansas has been crowned Nationwide’s 2026 Wackiest Cat Name winner, and his full name is:

Cheddar Big B***y Cheeseburger.

According to Nationwide, Cheddar was one of two orange kittens from a stray cat his owner took in. As he grew, he turned into what she lovingly described as a “sturdy unit of a cat,” and picking him up started to feel like lifting a triple-stacked cheeseburger.

So Cheddar Cheeseburger was born.

Then came the extra part of the name, inspired by his very specific love of butt scratches. That is how the world ended up with Cheddar Big B***y Cheeseburger.

More than 200,000 votes were cast in Nationwide’s 2026 Wacky Pet Names campaign. The top dog winner was a Plott hound named Internet Browser, and the top exotic pet winner was a bearded dragon named Space Cowboy.

But let’s be honest. Cheddar Big B***y Cheeseburger was always going to be hard to beat.
