One of the easiest ways you can provide value to your customers is by educating them!

When you educate your customers, you provide value by opening their eyes to all the ways in which your product/service can enhance their lives.

Furthermore, when you educate your customers, you establish yourself as an authority. Have you ever gone to buy something and you asked the salesperson about the product and they weren't knowledgeable?

Yeah, not a great first impression. Customers need to know that you KNOW what you're talking about so that they can trust you.

Here's a challenge for you! Pick out a day and time this week that you'll sit down and create at least one piece of educational content to share next week!

The best marketing in the world does not make up for poor customer service.

In my business, I focus on crafting ad strategy that walks the customer through what's called the "buyer's journey" (aka, the stages a potential customer goes through before making a purchasing decision).

However, when a customer DOES decide to purchase, sign up, etc., you need to be prepared to greet your customer with a customer service experience that complements their purchase.

One of the quickest ways a company will LOSE my business is by:

1) drop off in care/concern about me as a customer AFTER I've purchased
2) lack of knowledge regarding product/service
3) untimely response

Hey, people!

I wanted to take a quick second to reintroduce myself for anyone who is new here (and say "hey" to those who have been here a while 😀).

My name is Lizzie and here's a little bit about me:

I was born and raised in the great state of Alaska! After graduating from college, I decided to move out of state and have lived and worked in Memphis, TN for the past five years.

Very recently (as in like a week ago, lol) I moved to Birmingham, AL! I'm super excited for this move and to meet and connect with others in the area.

I'm also curious to see what I have in common with folks here, so here are some other random facts about me -- let me know what we have in common!

- I'm a believer in Jesus Christ; I grew up in a Christian family but it wasn't until I moved to Memphis and got connected with a really amazing church that I started to grow in my faith and maturity.

- I'm super passionate about education and believe that access to great education (in academic and professional settings) is one of the best ways to promote social equity

- I love exercising (I walk, workout or get in some type of movement daily; I also love meal prepping (yes, I'm one of those odd people who doesn't mind eating the same thing almost every day lol). Howeverrrr, I also have a huge sweet tooth and love me some candy or sweets. Also, chips.

- This year, I opened up my first business called Liz J Marketing Co. LLC. Super exciting and scary. In my business, I specialize in FB & IG ads. More specifically, I help business owners leverage FB & IG ads to promote their business, get more customers, and earn more $$

Let me first say that there are quite a number of reasons that your marketing efforts might not be working.

Therefore, I cannot tell you the *exact* reason your marketing isn't working, however (🙂), I can provide you with some questions to consider to help YOU trouble-shoot some of the possible reasons.

1. Who is your target audience? Do you know their characteristics (what they do, what they like)? What do they need and/or what problem would your service or product solve for them?

2. Are you clearly communicating how your product/service solves a problem for them? Take a look at your copy and messaging and look to see where you're telling potential customers how your product/service will help them solve a problem? This is a super easy one to forget! We know our own product or business so well that it is incredibly easy to *think* we clearly communicating what we do or offer, when in reality, we haven't said it at all.

3. Is there a high demand for your product or service? If there is not a high demand for your product or service, no amount of good marketing is going to make people purchase from you if they do not want or need what you're offering.

4. HOW are you marketing? Are you relying on word of mouth or the organic reach of your posts? If so, you may need to reconsider. The average organic reach of a FB post is around 5.2% 😮 That means that roughly 95% of your current followers are not seeing what you post!

Happy Juneteenth!

If you didn't already know, June 19th (known as Juneteenth) marks "the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday. On June 17, 2021, it officially became a federal holiday.

Confederate General Robert E. Lee had surrendered at Appomattox Court House two months earlier in Virginia, but slavery had remained relatively unaffected in Texas—until U.S. General Gordon Granger stood on Texas soil and read General Orders No. 3: “The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free.”

While we still have a long way to go, it is important to take time to acknowledge these moments of progression towards a more equitable and just future for all people.
