📌Let this be a lesson for all content creators and creatives in general!
Ms Jools Lebron, content creator known for the popular phrase, “Very Demure Very Mindful” was just in distress when the catchphrase was supposedly trademarked right under her nose which resulted in the creator crying in distress to her TikTok family of supporters.
The great thing this is, the situation has now been handled in her favor!
Here are some things to learn from this situation:
1) Intellectual property is STILL property. So even if you create something in the digital world, it’s still holds value!
2) Understand the value of your content! This situation is exactly why it’s crucial for content creators to recognize the worth of their intellectual property. Don’t give away usage rights without compensation—your work has value and should be treated as such.
3) Act quickly to protect your work. Whether it’s a catchphrase, logo, or any original content, make sure to trademark or copyright your work as soon as possible to prevent others from capitalizing on your creativity.
4) Don’t be afraid to seek legal advice. If you’re unsure about how to protect your intellectual property, consult a legal professional who specializes in trademarks and copyrights to ensure your creations are safeguarded.
Remember, your creativity is your asset. Protect it, value it, and never let anyone take advantage of what you’ve worked hard to create.
