Acquisition Vs Retention... Who wins?
I remember back then with our last business model, being mainly focused on client acquisition. Boy, did we grow quickly.
And one day we met Churn. 😞
Unfortunately there comes a time in any business where your churn rate will catch up to your client acquisition rate, if you don't take care of your clients by ensuring they get results.
Suddenly everything gets out of control.
So the only 2 options are:
- Focus on closing more deals.
- Focus on retaining actual clients.
Focusing on both does not count because you cannot FOCUS on "both" by definition.
So nowadays I find myself more and more doing onboarding calls with my team and understanding my clients business model from the beginning.
I spend more time following up with actual clients and making sure they get results, and that seems to be working so far.
Not to mention the effects refunds / chargebacks can have on a business.
Well, always learning, always adjusting.
We also added a DIY service that seemed to balance the income / work ratio.
I'm sure many of you have gone through this so what are your strategies to outgrow churn?
