Tomorrow: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡
Shambhala Music Festival acknowledges and is grateful to the Syilx, Sinixt and Ktunaxa Nations on whose land we work, live and play. We recognize that our Farmily comes together amongst the mountains, forests and rivers of the unceded, traditional lands of the Syilx, Sinixt and Ktunaxa Nations, and we honour that it is on this land that we can create the magic that is Shambhala Music Festival. We hope our guests will feel a connection and respect for these nations' past and future when they set foot on the farm.
We pause to honour the lost children, survivors of residential schools, their families, and their communities. This day calls us to reflect on the tragic history and lasting impact of residential schools, and to recognize that listening, learning, and acknowledging truth are essential steps in the path toward reconciliation.
We hope our Farmily takes this time to learn, reflect, and carry respect forward. When you visit the farm, we invite you to feel a deep connection to the past, present, and future of the Syilx, Sinixt, and Ktunaxa Nations, on whose traditional lands we gather. As part of our ongoing commitment to honouring these communities and amplifying Indigenous culture on the farm, Shambhala Music Festival offers two annual grant initiatives: the University Bursary Program and the Art Grant Program.
We would like to congratulate our 2025 funding recipients:
⭐️ 2025 Art Grants: Rain Pierre (Professional Artist Grant) and Vania Stager (Emerging Artist Grant)
⭐️ 2025 University Bursary Recipients: Brandon Tyson, Piper Mallet, Emily Sheppard, Charley Defouw, Dezarea Kovich, Jamie Adams, Taylor Sand, Teajay Louise Tiessen, Shayla Chalifoux, and Cadance Tucker.
