Portsmouth lost a great man this week. Jeremy was one of the driving forces to get boat racing back to Portsmouth in 2019. He was a amazing person and full of fun and tons of energy. We are blessed to have had the opportunity to work with Jeremy and get to know so many wonderful people in this community. While there will not be a boat race in Portsmouth this year, we do hope to be back in the coming years to honor Jeremy’s memory and the pure love he had for the city of Portsmouth.

Unfortunately due to circumstances out of our control, our race committee in Portsmouth and Breakwater have decided to cancel the 2021 North American Championship rescheduled for October 29th-31st. We look forward to coming back to Portsmouth in 2022 and hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween.

Any team who prepaid their entry will be receiving a refund in the next couple weeks.

Portsmouth Race on the River update.
With the incoming rain from the remnants of Ida, the Ohio River levels have been projected to go up to 41.5’. Flood stage in the area is at 50’. For the safety of everyone involved we will need to cancel the racing event scheduled for this weekend. We are working with APBA(our sanctioning body), the City of Portsmouth, Friends of Portsmouth, event sponsors, and Coast Guard to reschedule the North American Championship for all 3 classes that were planned to compete. To not conflict with existing events on the schedule, the new tentative date will be October 29th-31st.

Thank you to the Portsmouth community, our racing community, and everyone else involved for understanding the need to postpone the event. We hope everyone has a safe Labor Day weekend.

More details will come in the next week.

Just a reminder entry fees for Portsmouth NAC go up August 1st. Please send in your paperwork and either PayPal me your entry or everything must be postmarked by 8/1. Fee for 200 and 45 is $125 before 8/1 and $200 after 8/1. Fees for 60 is $75 and $125. John and I will be in Springfield if you would like to do everything then it will just be at the higher entry fee. We do this to get accurate counts for the site, team dinners, and to plan pit areas. Please let us know if you need a packet. Thanks!

BPA will be providing capsule certification in Portsmouth, OH on MONDAY, JULY 26TH to those who need it before Nationals or are unable to arrive Thursday before the North American Championship in Portsmouth, OH. This is pending APBA approval. If interested please PM for more details.
