The Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) has been providing support and advocacy for women business owners for 40 years! We celebrated that milestone last night at McNamara Alumni Center with the world-renown Marilyn Carlson Nelson giving a very personal and poignant keynote address. We also heard heartfelt messages from four members whose businesses are flourishing with the help of their WDBC community. Lexica just renewed its certification last week.

With the passing of the gavel, I officially began my term as board chair. We honored some of the outstanding volunteers and businesses that make our Chamber great at today's annual meeting. We also paid homage to Pete Turok's nearly 40-year career as president of the Anoka Area Chamber. He shared not only insights of his time behind the desk, but some heartfelt sentiments as well. Congratulations on your retirement, Pete! I will miss your leadership immensely!
