So everyone is wondering: what is Slick Productions. Well it is a business started by “Slick”Nick Anderson, who has booked, promoted and worked stage production for over 12 years and continues to work with some of the biggest names in the music industry as well as local artists and musicians in Minnesota. Slick Productions is a Universal Music business. Booking, Management, Promoting and Marketing. Nick has booked and promoted various shows at venues in Minneapolis, Mankato, Crosslake, Pine city and Grand Rapids. Nick has also done work in Indianapolis, Chicago and North Dakota. Recently, he has worked with local acts like Tiedman. Chris Peske, Lakame Mcgee, Oliver Books and Aurora Baer, Stephon Rene` and The Social Animals. Nick has also done stage production over many years with the following: Tonic Sol Fa Marlyn Manson Luke Bryan Joe Brice Joe Nichols 50-Cent Kenny Rogers Gary Allen Hinder Saving-Able Breathe-Carolina Skrillex MGK Five-Finger- Death-Punch Daughtry Wynnona Judd Kansas and many more. Now starting in 2018. Nick is taking a step forward and is now working as a Freelance Music Supervisor. He is now open for clients and going to focus on those projects this year. If many of you don’t know what a Music Supervisor is then here is a quick description for you:
According to The Guild of Music Supervisors, a music supervisor is “a qualified professional who oversees all music related aspects of film, television, advertising, video games and other existing or emerging visual media platforms as required. Typically, a music supervisor proposes previously recorded songs to the director or producer of a film, advertisement, television show, trailer, promo, video game, or any other form of visual media. A music supervisor will usually act as a liaison between the creative and business ends of the process.
Once a song is approved, they approach the rights holders of that song to seek permission to license. Next, they work out the financial details of the song’s use. In many instances, the artist or songwriter of the recorded song is given the opportunity to accept or decline licensing of their song. Music supervisors may work within production companies, film studios, networks, music supervision companies, or do freelance work.
