I’m always hearing how great the Trump years were, let’s recap: Trump inherited a solid growing economy from Obama, he then removed all the guardrails (regulations) and cut taxes for corporations sending stocks soaring into the stratosphere, creating a boom never seen before. He then refused to recognize any dark clouds threatening the euphoria and did absolutely nothing to mitigate an oncoming plague, sending thousands to an early death, setting off a recession, higher unemployment and the worst inflation numbers seen in decades. Trump left the country with huge deficits, a country divided by a highly partisan Supreme Court and an ineffective Congress. Then Democrats overwhelmingly take back office, steady the economy, only to absorb the blame of his aftermath. We all want something better, but Trump ain’t it. His reckless style never impressed anyone but his own devoted followers lusting for power.
