✨ Blair’s Review: Brow Perfection at Emma Esthetics ✨

There is something about freshly done brows that makes you feel like you have your life together and after my appointment with Emma Esthetics, I completely understand the brow lamination obsession!

I recently visited Emma Esthetics, located inside Hardy’s Custom Golf at 2003 W. Pine St., Mount Airy, NC 27030, to have my brows laminated, and I am seriously impressed with the transformation. Just LOOK at the before and after photos! 😍 My natural brows went from needing a little direction to looking fuller, lifted, defined, and beautifully shaped.

Meet Emma 💕

Emma is the owner and licensed esthetician behind Emma Esthetics, and she has been licensed since January 2023. One thing I really loved is that this isn’t a one-size-fits-all beauty experience. Emma focuses on customizing her services to the individual, whether you’re coming in for your brows, lashes, skincare, waxing, or a spray tan.

She was welcoming, professional, and took her time with my brows. The finished look is polished without feeling overdone, which is exactly what I wanted. My brows still look like my brows, just a MUCH better version of them. 😂

What surprised me most was just how much Emma offers. Emma Esthetics isn’t only a brow studio. Her services include customized facials, chemical peels, full-body waxing for women, spray tans, lash extensions, lash lifts and tints, brow laminations, and airbrush brow staining.

For skincare lovers, she also offers options and facial add-ons such as dermaplaning, jelly masks, firming peptides, oxygen facials, microdermabrasion, extractions, high frequency, and galvanic treatments. Basically, you could make this your little Mount Airy self-care spot for way more than just brows.

Her treatment room is cozy and private, with a relaxing atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy being pampered. I also love supporting a local woman-owned small business where you can tell the person behind it genuinely cares about her work and her clients.

Back to School: When First Grade Feels Like Kindergarten All Over Again

There’s something about back-to-school season that makes you feel like you need three planners, two extra hours in every day, and a personal assistant just to keep everyone where they’re supposed to be.

This year has hit me a little differently.

Last year, Presley was homeschooled for kindergarten. It was such a special season because I still had him close. We had flexibility, our mornings weren’t rushed, and I didn’t have to experience that traditional kindergarten moment of pulling up to a school, watching my baby walk through those doors, and driving away without him.

So technically, this year I have a first grader.

Emotionally? I feel like I’m sending my baby to kindergarten.

I knew sending Presley to school this year would be an adjustment, but I don’t think I realized how emotional it would actually feel.

There’s excitement because he’s growing, learning, making friends, and becoming more independent. I’m so proud of him and excited for everything he’s going to experience.

But there’s also that mom part of me thinking:

Wait… how are we already here?

Suddenly someone else gets him for a huge part of his day. I’m not right there to help him, remind him, answer his million questions, or see all those little moments.

And while he may be going into first grade, this is my first time experiencing so many of the traditional school-mom things.

Including the chaos. 😂

Can We Talk About Packing Lunch?!

Why does packing one tiny lunch feel like such a responsibility?

You want them to actually eat it, but you also want it to be somewhat nutritious. You need enough food, but apparently not too much food. You need snacks. A drink. Something they like. Something that won’t leak all over the lunchbox.

Then you start wondering:

Will he be able to open this himself?

Is this going to stay cold?

Did I pack a spoon?

Did I remember his water bottle?

And somehow, at 7:00 in the morning, these questions feel extremely important.

And Then There’s Car Line

I feel like no one adequately prepares moms for car line.

What lane am I supposed to be in? Are we getting out here? Is his backpack ready? Why is the car in front of me taking so long?

And, most importantly:

Am I about to accidentally break a car-line rule that every other parent somehow already knows?!

Drop-off itself is another emotional adventure.

You’re trying to be cheerful and encouraging because you want your child to feel confident.

“Have the BEST day! I love you!”

Meanwhile, part of you wants to roll down the window and yell, “Wait! Come back! One more hug!”

School supplies. Lunches. Backpacks. Papers. Emails. Events. Clothes for the next day. Activities. Work. Businesses. Appointments. Dinner. Laundry. Trying to have some kind of social life.

And somewhere in there, moms are also supposed to remember to take care of themselves.

Sure. 😂

When you already have a busy life, adding a traditional school schedule feels like adding an entirely new job.

I’m learning that I have to prepare more the night before, keep calendars everywhere, set reminders for things I’m convinced I’ll remember and absolutely will not, and accept that some mornings simply aren’t going to go perfectly.

Back to school is always focused on the kids and understandably so, but I think we forget that sometimes moms are going through a transition too.

Our babies are becoming more independent.

Their worlds are getting a little bigger.

They’re having experiences that don’t always include us.

And we’re learning how to loosen our grip just enough to let them grow while still being the safe place they come home to.

For me, first grade feels like kindergarten in a lot of ways. It’s our first real school drop-off. Our first packed lunches for a full traditional school week. Our first car line. Our first time navigating all of this together.

I know eventually we’ll find our rhythm.

The lunches will get easier. I’ll figure out the car line. Our mornings will become a routine instead of a circus. And hopefully I’ll stop checking the clock wondering what he’s doing every five minutes.

Maybe. 😂

But right now, I’m giving myself permission to admit that this is harder than I expected.

I’m excited for him. I’m proud of him. And I’m also a little emotional watching another chapter of his childhood begin.

So, to all the moms packing lunches at night, sitting in car line with coffee in hand, checking backpacks three times, setting 400 reminders, and holding back tears after drop-off:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The BEST Nail Experience!

I spent several hours at Luxury Nail Spa today completely pampering myself, and every minute was worth it! I had my old nails removed, old polish taken off my toes, enjoyed a relaxing pedicure, and finished with a beautiful fresh Gel-X full set.

This was my first visit, and I can honestly say I was impressed from start to finish. Mireya did my nails, and she absolutely nailed the look I wanted. The attention to detail was incredible, and my nails turned out flawless. The bright red color with the floral accent nails is exactly what I envisioned, and I’ve already received so many compliments!

The entire staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Everyone made me feel comfortable and taken care of throughout my appointment. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of work and time spent, and the drinks and snacks were such a nice touch that made the experience feel even more special.

If you’re looking for a salon where you can truly relax, be treated kindly, and leave feeling beautiful, I highly recommend Luxury Nail Spa. This was my first visit, but it definitely won’t be my last!

Memorial Day ❤️🇺🇸

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedom. Memorial Day is more than cookouts, long weekends, and sunshine. It’s a day to pause, reflect, and appreciate the lives given so we could enjoy moments with our families, friends, and communities.

As a mom, Memorial Day always hits a little differently. It reminds me how precious time is and how many families carry the weight of loss every single day. To the military families, spouses, children, and loved ones missing someone today, my heart is with you.

At Blair’s Review, I’m so thankful for this small community that continues to support local businesses, local families, and one another. I hope today brings you time with the people you love, gratitude for the freedoms we have, and a moment to remember the heroes who made it possible.

The Greatest Title I’ll Ever Have

There are so many things in life people dream of becoming. Successful. Strong. Accomplished. Admired. But for me, nothing in this world will ever compare to being called “Mom.”

Motherhood changed me in ways I never expected. It softened parts of me, strengthened parts of me, and gave my life a kind of purpose that no career, accomplishment, or title ever could. It’s exhausting and beautiful all at once. Some days are messy. Some days feel impossible. But every single day, it’s worth it.

Watching your child grow is like watching your heart live outside your body. One minute they’re tiny enough to fit in your arms, and the next they’re riding bikes in the driveway, smiling like they’ve already conquered the world. You realize time is moving far too fast while simultaneously trying to soak in every little moment before it becomes a memory.

To my sweet boy, you are my proudest moment. My biggest adventure. My reason to keep going even on the hard days. You have taught me patience, unconditional love, and how important the little moments truly are. Bedtime snuggles. Dirt-covered shoes. Tiny laughs. Pajamas all day. Watching you become your own little person has been the greatest honor of my life.

Motherhood isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up. Loving hard. Trying again tomorrow. It’s about making memories in ordinary moments and realizing one day those ordinary moments become the ones you miss the most.

This Mother’s Day, I just want to say Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. To the moms doing their best, the tired moms, the working moms, the stay-at-home moms, the single moms, the grieving moms, the bonus moms, and every woman loving a child with her whole heart… you are seen, appreciated, and deeply loved.

And being your mom will forever be my favorite thing about me. 💙

If you’ve been following along, you already know… my pink checkered rug is basically part of my brand at Little Babe Cave. It goes to all my pop-ups and ties into everything I do.

Well… my last event did not go as planned.

🌧️ The rug disaster

I got stuck outside in the rain for hours, and when I went to pack up… my rug was holding what I can only describe as a literal brown lake. It was heavy, soaked, and honestly… I thought it might be ruined.

🍧 Sunset Slush of Mayberry: Our New Favorite Summer Stop in Mount Airy

There’s just something about those first few really hot days of the year that makes you start craving something cold, sweet, and refreshing… and let me just tell you, we found the spot.

After Presley’s T-ball game (and let’s be honest… after sweating through it 😂), we decided to stop by a newer place right on Highway 89 in Mount Airy… and now we’re officially hooked.

☀️ First Impressions

From the moment you walk in, it just feels happy.
Bright colors, clean space, and such a fun, family-friendly vibe. It’s the kind of place you can tell is going to be a regular stop before you even take your first bite.

And bonus — it’s kid-friendly (which is always a win for me).

🍨 What We Got

Presley went straight for the “Zombie” flavor… which, if you don’t know, is basically all the leftover flavors mixed together.

And honestly? He thought that was the coolest thing ever 😂

I went with Creamsicle, and it was so good. Light, refreshing, and exactly what you want on a hot day without feeling heavy.
