Hey, I’m Shelley. My Story
I’ve been building businesses since the late '90s.

In 2016, I took a leap — no investors, no team, just me, a laptop, and a relentless belief that small businesses deserve to be seen, heard, and taken seriously online. I started Shelley’s Social Media because I was tired of watching good people get buried by bad marketing and empty promises. My background’s in IT, but tech was just the entry point. What drives me is people — the real ones. The sma

ll business owners who pour their hearts into what they do, who lose sleep over payroll, who show up every damn day even when it’s hard. That’s who I built this for.

​Over the years, I’ve studied business, design, strategy, SEO, social, paid ads — everything I could get my hands on. Not because it looks good on paper, but because I owe it to the people who trust me with their business to be ten steps ahead.

​In 2019, I made it official. Shelley’s Social Media became an LLC, and SSM Marketing was born. We didn’t just expand — we leveled up. I’ve now worked with over 1,500 businesses across the U.S., helping them show up online with clarity, confidence, and results that actually move the needle.

​But here’s the thing: this isn’t just marketing to me.

​It’s personal.

​I’ve walked beside clients through launches, breakdowns, wins, losses — the whole rollercoaster. I’ve stayed up late fixing messes someone else left behind. I’ve cried over success stories, cheered when leads turned into life-changing deals, and fought tooth and nail to make sure small business voices don’t get drowned out by corporate noise.

​I care way too much to half-a** this.

Lately through TSE Xperience, I’ve been spending more time working with businesses in places that inspire me.

Recently I started working with Bryan at Isla Oeste Charters in Puerto Rico. I originally met Bryan while I was down there doing a charter and some scuba diving. While we were talking it became clear that he had built an incredible experience for people on the water, but a lot of the pieces behind the scenes were not set up to help him grow.

His website needed some updates.
His service descriptions needed work.
He had great video footage but nothing edited into content.
Social posting was inconsistent.
One of the booking apps he uses needed updating.

We also updated his logo and created a brand guide so everything about the business, including the visuals, messaging, and how the brand shows up online, stays consistent moving forward.

So we started working together and began improving things piece by piece. That’s the way I like to work with businesses. I meet them where they are and help strengthen the areas that will make the biggest difference.

The other day Bryan told me he had just booked seven charters in one day, which he said was a record for him.

That kind of message makes my day because this is exactly why The Shelley Experience exists. Helping great people who already have something special build the structure, visibility, and story around what they are doing so more people can find them.

It’s been really fun to watch it start to take off.

Over the years, Shelley’s Social Media has been a big part of my journey working with businesses, building brands, and helping people grow their visibility online.

Through that work, something started to evolve.

I realized that what I was really helping people do went far beyond social media. It was about bringing ideas to life through strategy, storytelling, collaboration, events, travel, and meaningful connections between people and brands.

That’s how TSE Xperience came to life.

Marketing is still very much part of what I do, but The Shelley Experience allows me to work with brands in a broader way — meeting them where they are and helping them grow through strategy, partnerships, and real-world experiences.

From the laughter and witchy costumes to the community energy all down Main Street, this night was pure Mount Horeb magic.
