$2.3 million back into Kentucky farms... one pizza, produce box, and local purchase at a time.

Congratulations to Locals Frankfort on graduating from the Kentucky Proud Buy Local Program. Since opening in June 2021, owners Birch and Michelle Bragg have reported more than $380,000 in Kentucky Proud purchases while building a mission-driven food hub in Frankfort dedicated to supporting local farmers and strengthening Kentucky's agricultural economy.

Offering fresh produce and local meats to pizza toppings and pantry staples, Locals continues proving that buying local creates a ripple effect far beyond the checkout line.

Wishing you all a Happy Memorial Day! Let us not forget, it’s more than a three-day weekend spent with family and friends welcoming in the summer. May we all be reminded today is a day given to remember and honor the men and women who sacrificed for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day Weekend: the unofficial start of summer, where the smoke rolls, the garden shines, and every paper plate somehow turns into a celebration of home. 🇺🇸 🥩 🌽

A wise Kentuckian knows two things: never rush good barbecue, and never underestimate the flavor of food raised close to home. Fire up the grill, pile on the fresh Kentucky Proud produce and know that every burger or steak flipped, every tomato sliced, and every lettuce tossed is another way to support the farm families who keep Kentucky growing.

Eat well. Gather often. Thank those who served. And for goodness sake . . . don’t forget the extra napkins for the barbecue sauce.

I’m planted in rows but never for shade,
a Kentucky tradition for generations made.
I start in small trays, then stretch toward the sky,
by summer I’m broad-leafed and standing up high.
Some call me historic, some call me gold,
what crop am I, grown both young and old?

At Thurby, Kentucky Proud was honored to be the presenting sponsor the Mamzelle Stakes (GIII) Race, celebrating Kentucky agriculture on one of racing’s biggest stages leading up to the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs.

With Kentucky sourced food, a Kentucky-grown bouquet presentation, and Kentucky bred horses, it was a day rooted in tradition, pride, and the people behind it all.

Kentucky Proud is taking center stage as the presenting sponsor of the Mamzelle Stakes (GIII) this Thurby at Churchill Downs.

Our logo will be featured on the saddle blankets, and we’ll join the winning connections in the winner’s circle for a special trophy presentation. The winning filly will also receive a bouquet of Kentucky-grown flowers sourced through The Kentucky Flower Market from producers including Wild Roots Farmer Florist, 4J's Family Farm, Late June Flowers, and Firmly Rooted Flowers, celebrating the beauty and diversity of agriculture across the Commonwealth.

All Derby Week long, you’ll find additional Kentucky Proud sourcing throughout the grounds highlighting the farmers, makers, and producers who make Kentucky agriculture so special.

There’s no better time to celebrate what’s grown, raised, and crafted right here at home.
