Update : Tiger Who Mauled Man to Death at UK Zoo Will Not Be Euthanized

MAN KILLED BY TIGER AFTER ENTERING ENCLOSURE AT WILDLIFE PARK

A man was killed Saturday after entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster in northern England, authorities said.

South Yorkshire Police said emergency responders were called to the park around 1:35 p.m. Oct. 10 after reports that a man had entered the enclosure and was attacked by a tiger. Despite efforts by medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity has not been publicly released. Police said his family has been notified and is receiving support.

The tiger was not injured and remained inside the enclosure. The park was evacuated and temporarily closed as authorities began investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The park’s “Land of the Tigers” attraction features endangered Amur tigers, also known as Siberian tigers, in a two-acre habitat designed to allow visitors to observe the animals from a raised walkway.

Authorities have urged the public not to share disturbing video footage of the attack circulating on social media.

The wildlife park said it was cooperating with investigators to determine exactly what happened. Source: Associated Press and South Yorkshire Police, Oct. 10-11, 2026.
