Renowned transplant surgeon Nabil Dagher has been appointed director of the Northwell Health Transplant Center at North Shore University Hospital, where he will oversee its liver and kidney transplantation programs.

In his new role, Nabil N. Dagher, MD, FACS, will also serve as both surgical director of the liver transplant program and co-director of the Center for Advanced Liver Disease and Transplantation.

Northwell Health Labs announced that it has begun using LabGold, a low-cost, highly-reliable polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test with a self-collected specimen to screen employees for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with plans to expand its use through a $2.5 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
