We have a strong team at Action. Part of the reason for that is the experience of our team. We have 32 employees with more than 10 years of service. And we have a good group of new team members that are quickly learning our business and embracing our customer-centric culture. Our employees stick with us because we treat them fairly and try to recognize the contributions they make to our success.
In line with this, I want to talk a little about three employees that have been with Action for over 20 years.
• Christi Derouen – Last month, Christi completed her second decade of employment with Action. Christi started as an Accountant and is now our Controller. She makes sure we follow the rules, pay our taxes, and produce reliable financial results. Behind the scenes, she’s always involved in company activities. It has been a pleasure to have her on our team.
• Elston Touriac – “Mr.” Elston has been with Action for 27 years. When I say he can do anything, it’s because he does everything. Most importantly, he does it with a smile and a passion that lights up a room. Elston is a positive force in our business and our customers like being around him.
• Harold Drexler – Later this month, Harold will hit the 30-year mark with Action. He is our Embroidery Digitizer. He has a unique skill set to be able to convert logos and artwork into files which enable our high tech equipment to stitch the designs into millions of colors, shapes, and styles. He is a quiet contributor but as solid as they get.
I’m proud of all three of these team members and their commitment to us over the years. We try hard to commit back to them and the rest of our team by sharing our success. Our service awards and incentive programs have worked for us, and we like to show our customers how they can work in other businesses. The world has changed. A vital part of every successful business is attracting and retaining good employees. Incentive programs go a long way in locking down that success factor.
This month, we supported some schools and contributed to a Dreams Come True event. This organization does exactly what their name says – they make dreams come true for children with life-threatening illnesses. That is near and dear to my heart. Action is proud to support great organizations and events like this.
We’re making it happen at Action and when our customers call, we always say “we can do that!.”
