An accent is the particular way a person pronounces words, often influenced by where they grew up or the language they learned.
For example:
* Someone from Virginia may have a Southern/U.S. regional accent.
* Someone from Costa Rica may speak English with a Spanish-influenced accent.
* British and American English have different accents.
Accent ≠ language. Two people can speak the same language but have different accents.
