MAJOR TORNADO OUTBREAK LIKELY FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY

Short-range forecast models continue to trend UP with a high-end environment for tornadoes across the Mid-South on Saturday, as well as Friday night across the central/Lower Mississippi River Valley. A trough is forecast to amplify behind the bomb cyclone system (Friday) and lift a warm front through the Mid South early Saturday. Supercells could erupt as early as midday along the warm front in northern MS and along a confluence band into southeastern AR/northern LA, with round-after-round of tornadic supercells developing farther east with prefrontal confluence bands lighting up through afternoon/evening. The northern part of the higher risk area for tornadoes could push north of the Ohio River Saturday night.

We will be activating full-blown live storm chase mode starting Friday afternoon, and will be launching rockets into tornadoes for the first time in 5 years.

The EURO model ensemble is on board with the uptick in probability for a in the Gulf of Mexico toward the end of next week with the trailer system that crosses over Central America. Classic late season tropical cyclone moving west-to-east. Notice the very low minimum pressure fornth individual runs! We of course will be watching this and chasing it
