It is Pride Month and every brand has put some rainbow colored content out to show support to the LGBTQ+ community.

However, the issue of LGBTQ+ equality runs much deeper and Corporate America has a long way to go, moving beyond token activations for 1 month of the year:

1. Showcase the community in ads & campaigns throughout the year,

2. Building and designing products for the community (although several beauty brands have made strides in the space, very little has been done across other categories),

3. Make the workplace more comfortable for the LGBTQ+ community (brand goes beyond what you show outside),

4. Give expression grounds to the community (get LGBTQ+ creatives, marketing leaders to the drawing table).

Time for brands to move beyond, as Katie Martell puts it, 'rainbow-washing' a very present issue.
