Nowadays, having an Instagram blog can be an incredibly beneficial asset and investment. At first, you need to invest time and effort into building your personal brand, developing your marketing strategy, and growing your target audience. But if you do it right, your blog will start working for you. You'll receive client inquiries, generate passive income, be invited to speak at conferences and events, collaborate on exciting projects with partners, and much more. Therefore, blogging is a long-term investment that pays off in various ways.

But just like with other investments such as stocks, bonds, ETFs, or real estate, mastering Instagram marketing takes time. ❌Don't Promote Your Blog Until You've Done These

This information is really important, so be sure to read to the end and save it as a checklist📌

Here are the steps to take:

Step 1 – Technical. Switch your account from private to business. This is a mandatory step as it allows you to view blog statistics such as reach, views, clicks on posts, and more.

Step 2 – Determine the type of your blog. Ask yourself what kind of blog you want to have. Will it be an expert blog, where you present yourself as a knowledgeable person in your field? Or a business blog, where you sell a product or service? Maybe you plan to make it a lifestyle blog to talk about your life, or a mix of several types. It's important to make this decision at the beginning to help guide your content creation.

Examples:
I would pick an EXPERT blog if I wanted to design my personal brand as a psychologist, foreign language teacher, designer, lawyer, accountant or marketer, etc

I would pick a BUSINESS blog if I wanted only to sell particular products or services, such as handmade furniture or art works, or provide services as a makeup artist or lash maker, etc.

I would pick a LIFESTYLE blog for only sharing aspects of my life, such as sports activities, travel, and education.

I would pick a mix of an EXPERT and LIFESTYLE blog if I were a mom who is an expert in the field of real estate and wanted to show both in the blog. This would make my blog different from other real estate experts and help attract those who are interested in bringing up children and my expertise.

This is not something permanent, you can play with it later and shift or create mix. But it really helps at the beginning to clarify what to post about and what not to post.

Step 3 – Choosing Your Niche and Analyzing Your Target Audience🎯This step is the most challenging yet CRUCIAL one that will DETERMINE much of your future SUCCESS. Many people face questions and difficulties here. Here's a breakdown of what you need to do:

Niche: This refers to the theme of your blog, for example:

For expert blogs - portrait photography, interior photography, wedding photography, teaching English from scratch, teaching Spanish and French for advanced learners, offices interior design or loft style interior design, web design, art law, healthcare or bankruptcy law, etc.

For business blogs - your niche is your product or service: handmade furniture, oil paintings, abstract paintings, makeup and hairstyles service, etc.

For lifestyle blogs - these are your interests that you plan to broadcast on your blog, for example: sports and psychology, photography and travel, raising children and building a business, etc.

🎯Target Audience: Your target audience comes from your niche and who you want to work with and attract to your blog. This is a complicated area, and identifying your target audience is not always easy. I will delve deeper into this topic in the future, but for now, I encourage you to ask yourself a few question: Who are you writing for? Who are these people? How can your product, service, or blog help them?
Determining the answers to these questions will help you establish your target audience and create content that appeals to them.

Step 4 – Create the Initial Content pack and don't forget about Attractive Blog Design!
I call it the initial minimum "packaging" of your blog : bio description, avatar picture, nickname, first 3-5 highlights, first 9-12 posts.

It is crucial because it's what people will see when they first visit your profile. Whether or not they subscribe hinges on this crucial factor. Ensure that it aligns with your niche, target audience, and your brand and blog vision. By doing this, individuals who visit your blog will get a clear idea of its purpose and find the content engaging and valuable.

Once you've packaged your profile, you can begin to promote it.

Step 5 – Choose a Method to Promote Your Blog
There are free and paid methods to promote your blog. Free methods such as Reels, mutual PR, hashtags, etc. require time and effort, while paid methods such as targeted advertising, advertising with bloggers, advertising in communities etc. require financial investment.

As a marketer, I view marketing as the vehicle to success. Let me explain why. Whether you're an entrepreneur, freelancer, expert, or blogger, we're all on a journey from point A to point B, and marketing is our transportation system. Just like we would pick the right mode of transportation for any trip, building a marketing system tailored to niche and goals is crucial. Whether it's a car, airplane, or skateboard, each tool has its own unique benefits that can help us reach our destination. So as well as with the right marketing strategies, we can achieve the point B effectively and efficiently.

For instance, building a skateboard is quicker and simpler than constructing a boat or a plane, but it's impossible to fly, sail with it or transport many people. However, if your aim is to test a niche or hypothesis, it's illogical to spend a lot of time, money, and energy developing a car or an airplane. It's better to start with a skateboard. As well as if you want to get fast first results, saving time on building more difficult systems or don't have many resources to begin with and can't afford to fuel a car or airplane. Think you've got the idea.

Moreover, marketing systems, like vehicles, can break down and cause failure on the go to success. Sometimes they require repairs, tuning, updates to the latest version, a change from one type of vehicle to another, or just proper fueling.

How did I turn my hobby into income?

Seven years ago, I began creating videos as a pastime. However, after two years of practice and learning the ins and outs of video shooting, gear, and post-production, I realized that I wanted to transform my hobby into a reliable source of income.

My goal was to generate commercial videos for businesses, but without a portfolio, it was difficult to do. I offered to create a free video for a local yoga coach. I was extremely nervous and rewrote my offer countless times before sending it. However, she agreed to my proposal, and I shot my first commercial video.

While filming, the owner of the gym where the yoga practice took place asked for my contact information and pricing for my services. She wanted to try video marketing for her business as well. I created a video for the gym, and the owner loved it and asked me to create more videos for her business. Soon, other small businesses noticed my work and contacted me for video projects. It all began with one letter that I was initially hesitant to send.

Then I decided to take it to the next level and started offering my services to larger companies. I learned about marketing and how to use videos to promote products and services. I learned how to present myself and my services the way people wanted me to work with them. It was a long journey with plenty of trial and error, but it started with one email that I was terrified to send.

Today, video making is much more popular than when I began, and the competition is fierce. However, it's still possible to transform your passion into a career with the right tools and strategies. Are you actually attracting them or others?

Here's a quick hack: be yourself. When you show your true personality, values, and approach to work, you attract people who resonate with it. This makes the work process easier, more pleasant, and yields better results.

On the other hand, if you pretend to be someone you're not, you'll attract people who like that persona, not the real you. Eventually, you'll tire of playing that character and lose your following because they were never interested in you to begin with.

That's why designing your Instagram profile, including its appearance and content, is crucial in attracting your perfect clients. While the hack may seem simple, implementing it requires discovering your personality, strengths, values, and how to present them in a way that interests others. And this isn't so easy as it seems. In order for a purchase to be made, marketers establish sales funnels - the journey that potential buyers take towards a product or service, with each stage carefully crafted to boost the likelihood of a purchase. Sales funnels are crucial as they draw the customer's attention, raise their interest, and ultimately increase their desire to buy.

Let's say you're scrolling through your Instagram feed and come across an ad that catches your eye. You click on the ad, which takes you to the product's website page. There, you look through the product's description and reviews before ultimately making the purchase on the checkout page. This is an example of a classic sales funnel, with distinct stages, each with its own goal. The ad's goal is to draw attention and encourage a transition to the website, while the website's content aims to build interest, desire, and ultimately encourage a purchase.

Although it is a classic and straightforward funnel, there can still be several obstacles that arise. Advertising may fail to capture attention or generate a desire to click, the website may not effectively showcase the product or service in a way that inspires to make a purchase, or it may load too slowly, causing users to leave etc.
