I founded COLECTVA in 2021 because I wanted to support my community along their entrepreneurial journey through the power of BRAND. I wanted to amplify the incredible stories of and build the brands that are reflective of todays market. I am highly intentional where I invest my money and how I invest my time. I set aside money, every year, to attend conferences, seminars, workshops, and events put on by fellow diverse business owners. Here I am with my client attending a summit put on by (both WOC). As Small Business owners, we have an incredible opportunity to LIVE our values via our business investments, business plans, revenue, mentorship, promotion, and presence. This is how you create an equitable ecosystem and invest back into our communities.

Don't let your scarcity beliefs determine how much money you make.
🌱Scarcity is doing NADA for us! The hard truth is that many of us were raised under the guise of "insufficiency." We were taught there was never enough, we aren´t enough, and we would never have enough. The truth is, there is PLENTY of money and value all around us.

🌱 Many of us were taught that chasing money is more important than using our time wisely. This is another myth. The truth is, time is the MOST precious resource. You can always make more money. You cannot make more time. Use it wisely.

🌱We are constantly being bombarded by overnight success stories. This is also greatly misleading and will not be the story for so many of us. We need to accept that our financial, emotional, mental, and spiritual investment into our brands takes TIME. So create a plan and buckle up.

🌱 Lastly, remember this: The secret to money is that there´s PLENTY of it to go around. Now we need to figure out how to get it into your bank account!

3 tips for Women Led Businesses when it Comes to Money

1. Get yourself a good accountant/CPA! I personally love using Zaslove Accounting
2. Choose ONE credit card or bank card and use it exclusively for business-related expenses. (I use to take advantage of points)
3. Keep all your receipts and do a little accounting each month. Start with a simple spreadsheet or notebook, but make sure you organize your expenses and income.

🌈The Power Of Connection🌈

I can’t overstate the importance of speaking your truth and stating your mission over and over again. This past week I had the honor and the pleasure of leading an empowerment workshop with — an incredible Non-Profit that provides legal, holistic, and community services for immigrant women and gender-expansive youth.

Through my connection with (gracias amiga) I was able to share time, space, a little food, and great stories with some incredible young women!

I want to thank the beautiful and dedicated team (pictured above) for inviting me into your space and allowing me to share some of the many tools and resources I have gathered along my own personal journey in .

This is a love nudge to venture into the spaces that scare you and push yourself to share your vulnerability. You never know who may be listening and who’s life you may change. 🙏🏽

2020 was the last straw. I had spent nearly 2 decades hustling to make a life for myself. I had the fortune of landing in an industry that allowed me to make a nice living…but I was burnt out. At my last formal position, I was working across 3 time zones while homeschooling and constantly feeling like I wasn’t doing enough. I was absolutely burning the candle at both ends and decided enough was enough. This life was not sustainable, no matter how much money they threw at me so I took a huge leap of faith and launch COLECTVA. Sound familiar?

I loved building brands and wanted to build the type of brands that fill me up. I wanted to work with MY community. I wanted to work with and founders. Many said I’d be begging for a job in 6 months. I guess the haters gonna hate. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Last night I had the honor of accompanying my client—the BRILLIANT (Dominicana, PHD, Mama, and Fundraiser) to support in Washington Heights. I was in a room full of people who invest in our communities AND invest in women (the founder is a woman.)

My point is that my “crazy” dream is materializing before my eyes and it’s coming full circle. Nobody believes in your dream until YOU do. People said I’d never make any money serving my community. That female entrepreneurs don’t spend money on our businesses. That we don’t invent in ourselves. I am living proof that THAT is a lie.

My point? Keep going. Keep pushing. Keep fighting. Keep connecting. And keep showing up. ✌🏽
