Hey, there, local business owners!
A few days ago, I received a Facebook notification with a few tips on improving your results with Facebook broad targeting. I wanted to share them with you all. These tips go against what many of us have learned about Facebook targeting, but data back them, so please, hear me out.
๐๐ข๐ฉ ๐: Only use age, gender, and location targeting. This may seem counterintuitive, but limiting your targeting parameters to these three options can actually help you reach a wider audience. By casting a wider net, you can attract potential customers you wouldn't have otherwise targeted.
๐๐ข๐ฉ ๐: Avoid using interest-based targeting parameters. Again, this may seem the opposite of what we've been taught, but interest-based targeting can limit your reach. By only targeting people who have shown interest in your specific niche, you may be missing out on potential customers who are not yet aware of your business.
๐๐ข๐ฉ ๐: Set your audience to reach at least two million people. Facebook's ad delivery system works best when your audience is over two million people, so aim for the widest audience that makes sense for your business.
Of course, it's important to note that these tips depend on the objective of your advertising campaign. If you want to increase sales or leads, these tips could be very effective. However, casting a wide net may not be the best strategy if your objective is to increase brand awareness. In that case, it may make sense to be specific in your targeting, especially since branding ads are generally cheaper than conversion ads.
According to a recent study by AdEspresso, these tips can lead to a 24% increase in click-through rates and a 62% decrease in cost per click. So, give it a shot and see how it works for your business!
