30, thriving & becoming. 💋✨

Today, I close a decade that changed me forever and step into the womanhood of my thirties with deep gratitude for 30 years of resilience, knowledge, self awareness and becoming.

My twenties stretched me, humbled me and introduced me to versions of myself I could have never imagined. I dreamed. I survived. I started over. I took risks. I found my voice. I walked into rooms I once only imagined. I learned that some endings are invitations, some detours are redirections, and sometimes the greatest thing you can become is more deeply yourself.

This birthday trip has been about more than turning 30.

I wanted to honor the little girl who dreamed, every version of me who kept going and the woman standing here because they did. To give my inner child experiences rooted in wonder, adventure and possibility while celebrating the woman who can now create them for herself. 🥹✨

There is something sacred about arriving at 30 with an unshakable certainty of who Jessica Torres is and who she is becoming.

I enter this decade softer without making myself smaller, wiser without losing my wonder and more intentional about what deserves my energy.

My twenties taught me how to become. My thirties are about building from the woman I now know myself to be.

My birthday wish? 💫

I’m pouring myself into The Progress Goddess 🧠👑 | NYC Mentorship, Community & Events, a mission rooted in mentorship, personal and professional development, storytelling and community impact. Reminder : Celebrate how far you've come. Only YOU know what it takes to be YOU and to make it this far. You're worthy of honoring your accomplishments and taking pride in them, unapologetically.

🎂🎉 10K was once the goal. Then I reached it, and remembered, it was worth celebrating.

There are now 10.2K of you here, but the real milestone has always been the community behind the number. This time, I’m not moving the goalpost before I celebrate crossing it.

August is my birthday month, and as I get closer to closing one era and evolving into another, I’ve been reflecting on a pattern I’m actively trying to unlearn. Too often, I don’t recognize how far I’ve come because I’m focused on how far I still have to go. Every time I surpass my own expectations, I raise the bar even higher. By the time I accomplish a goal I once prayed for, I feel more relieved than proud. Maybe that’s the trauma response. Maybe that’s the Virgo in me. Regardless, I’m learning that progress deserves to be witnessed, not just pursued.

I grew up in a low-income household shaped by domestic violence and dysfunction, without many blueprints for the life I envisioned. I learned early that if I wanted a different life, I would have to become the blueprint for it. Survival and hyper-independence taught me how to make a way where there wasn’t one.

But community taught me I was never supposed to do it all alone.

The most meaningful evidence of my impact isn’t a follower count. It’s hearing that a resource I shared helped you, you discovered a local Puerto Rican business through my page, found an opportunity that opened a door, or watched me publicly say yes to myself and found the courage to say yes to yourself, too.

That is true influence to me. Not how many people I can reach, but how many people I can remind of what’s possible for their own lives.

I may have learned how to make a way on my own, but I was never meant to build a legacy alone.

Thank you for growing with me. We’re only getting started. 🤎

I became the woman my younger self needed.

Thank you to my Official Beauty Partners. Dress Inspired by Miss Lady Liberty 🗽👗Style And Beads - Elegant Studios

Standing on the Miss New York USA stage as an Official State Finalist representing the borough where I was born and raised, Queens, was a full-circle moment I’ll carry with me forever. Life may have led me to the Bronx, but Queens will always be the foundation of my story. Representing my home borough meant honoring far more than a place on a map. It meant carrying my Puerto Rican roots, my community, my resilience, and every chapter that shaped me. ✨

As I welcome August, step into Virgo season, and prepare to celebrate my 30th birthday, I find myself reflecting less on accomplishments and more on transformation. 🌿 This season isn’t asking me to become someone new. It’s inviting me to return to the woman I was always meant to be. I’ve been reflecting on every version of Jessica that quietly built this life: the one who thought making it through the day was enough, the one who outgrew what no longer served her, and the one who kept choosing possibility over certainty, faith over fear, and progress over perfection.

Today, I don’t look back at her with regret. I look back with gratitude. 🤍 She carried responsibilities that were never meant for a child and learned to survive before she had the chance to simply exist. She made the best decisions she could with what she knew, and every setback became wisdom. Somewhere along the way, I made a quiet promise to myself: I would stop building my life around survival and start building it around intention.

Everything I create today is an extension of that promise: to make my younger self proud, honor the woman I am today, and build a life my future self will one day thank me for.

Growth isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about remembering who you are beneath the survival, fear, and expectations. Here’s to new beginnings, softer seasons, and stepping into a new decade with intention. 🦋
