⚠️ HOW FAR WILL YOU GO TO FOLLOW JESUS?
Most modern Christians answer with soft language.
“I’ll follow Him as far as it’s comfortable.”
“As long as it doesn’t cost my job.”
“As long as my family still likes me.”
True Christians have only ever had one answer:
UNTIL DEATH!
That is not rhetoric. That is the blood-soaked history of the early Church.
It started with Stephen, stoned outside Jerusalem while Saul held the coats.
Then James the son of Zebedee, beheaded by Herod.
Then Peter crucified upside down and Paul beheaded under Nero after the fire of Rome—Christians sewn into animal skins and torn by dogs, others coated in pitch and set alight as human torches in the emperor’s gardens.
Ignatius of Antioch, bishop and disciple of the apostles, was marched to Rome in chains. He begged the churches not to interfere. He wanted the wild beasts to grind him into “the pure bread of Christ.”
Polycarp of Smyrna, eighty-six years old, disciple of the apostle John. When the proconsul demanded he curse Christ and swear by Caesar, the old man answered:
“Eighty-six years I have served Him, and He has done me no wrong. How can I blaspheme my King who saved me?”
They tried to burn him. The fire refused to consume him. So they stabbed him.
Justin Martyr beheaded in Rome.
Perpetua, a nursing mother of twenty-two, and Felicity, her slave who gave birth in prison three days before the arena—both faced wild animals and the sword in Carthage rather than deny their Lord.
Under Decius the entire empire was ordered to sacrifice or die. Under Diocletian churches were razed, Scriptures burned, and the faithful hunted for years. Still they answered the same way.
They did not die for a lifestyle.
They did not die for a political cause.
They died because they refused to say “Caesar is Lord” when only Jesus is.
That is the standard.
Not “until inconvenience.”
Not “until cultural pressure.”
**UNTIL DEATH.**
Anything less is cosplay.
The Keystone Sentinel does not deal in safe Christianity.
We deal in the faith that once filled the amphitheaters with the blood of the saints and still calls every generation to the same answer.
Stand firm.
Bleed if you must.
Follow Him all the way.
UNTIL DEATH!
