A Few Last Good Deeds...

Allah says in the Quran: “Call on me, I will respond to you” [40:60]. Given our current climate, filled with so much adversity, we often feel hopeless.

Use the last days of Ramadan as a time to unload your worries, your troubles & communicate your hopes and dreams to Allah.

As we bid farewell to our blessed month of Ramadan I leave these thoughts and duas with you. Subscribed to my newsletter? Check your email for 14 duas to use in these last few days. Whether you felt you gave it your all this Ramadan or you could have done more ask Allah (SWT) to accept your efforts and to reward you for the good of your intentions. Ameen.

Alhamdulillah! Issa Wrap on the Halimah + 2nd Annual Iftar. Jazakallah khair for such an enlightening conversation about education and the importance of access to resources to pursue higher education for muslim students at every stage of life.

We came together as a community of muslim women we shared our stories and experiences, knowledge, a delicious meal and even a few tears were shed. I love events like this because it’s so much more than sharing an Iftar meal it’s being in community with one another to understand what the actual needs of the community are. As a muslim community we are so diverse and for some the barriers to even take our seat at the table are many. It is my prayer that we continue to invite this type of dialogue inside and outside the month of Ramadan so we can support and see the value of organizations like to the Ummah and society as a whole.

Jazakallah khair ACC and to all the women who attended for the opportunity to serve and champion this effort again this year I am humbled and grateful. May Allah grant us an accepted Ramadan and bless us in this life and the next. Ameen 🤲🏽🤍✨

Join me tomorrow LIVE at 11am. Where we will delve into the critical role of community building and advocacy for inclusive education, particularly from the perspectives of three remarkable women: Dr. Fareeda Haamid , a pediatric specialist; Jenee Lee .teacher.lee , an educator based in Philadelphia; and Quesia Raqib , an advocate for autism and neurodivergent individuals. Together, they will explore the transformative power of fostering supportive communities within classrooms and healthcare settings, especially for marginalized groups. Additionally, they will discuss the importance of representation and why it’s essential for more women and women of color to pursue higher education, particularly in fields where their voices are underrepresented. Finally, they will reflect on how their own journeys in higher education have shaped their ability to advocate for inclusivity and imagine the alternate paths their lives might have taken without pursuing advanced degrees.
