2025 is set to be a transformative year for content and design.

Here are the key shifts happening in how we tell stories, connect with audiences, and adapt to trends:

Human Centered Creativity đź«‚

The future of content is all about real, human stories:

With 42% of creators producing culturally rooted short films, the focus is on storytelling with emotional depth and local traditions—making content more relatable and impactful.

And While AI is here to assist, the core message must stay human-driven.

🚨key word: HUMAN DRIVEN🚨

Design Trends: Comfort Over Cold 🥰

We’re moving away from cold minimalism toward maximalism and nostalgia—embracing warm, inviting designs that evoke emotion.

Visuals and content that comforts and connects, like a familiar meal.

Expect a blend of analog techniques with digital tools to create designs that feel genuine and relatable.

Agility in Trends 🏎️

In 2025, speed will be key.

Brands need streamlined workflows to adapt quickly to emerging trends.

However, authenticity is non-negotiable—participating in trends should align with the brand's identity to maintain trust.

It’s about finding the balance between jumping on micro-trends and staying true to long-term brand values.

Collective Creator Power

Collaborations with creator collectives are reshaping how brands engage with audiences.

Consumers trust creators more than brands, which makes these collaborations essential for authenticity.

The focus should be on deep, strategic partnerships with creators to produce impactful, co-created content that blurs the lines between B2C and B2B, emphasizing community and collaboration.

2025 is all about connection, emotion, and community.

Brands that adapt quickly and stay human-centric will lead the way.

Which trend excites you the most?

Let’s discuss how these shifts will shape your content strategy. Full report in the comments!

Most people skip testing their content (myself included at times). 🫣

But here’s the truth: without testing, even the best ideas can fall flat.

Testing is where content either resonates or misses the mark.

Let me break it down ↓

It’s easy to feel confident in a piece of content right after creating it,

but without testing there’s no way to know if it will truly connect with your audience.

Imagine launching content that’s already validated by real feedback.

Testing lets you refine and improve before going live, so you’re always one step ahead.

Transformation:

Here’s how testing makes all the difference:

Gather Real Feedback

↳ Whenever possible, test with your target audience. Honest feedback can reveal what truly resonates.

Set Clear Metrics

↳ Define KPIs like engagement rates, time spent, and user feedback to measure what’s working and where you can improve.

Iterate for Improvement

↳ Testing isn’t a one-time step. Each test cycle gives insights for continuous improvement, making sure each piece of content hits the mark.

Testing isn’t just a final check; it’s a transformation tool for making your content truly impactful.

Most brands struggle with turning content ideas into polished, engaging pieces that really connect.

The problem?

Ideas are easy, but refining them into high-impact content takes time, the right tools, and a willingness to iterate.

Sound familiar? Here’s the catch:

Without a solid prototype phase, content can fall flat or miss the mark.

Sketching out ideas, creating multiple versions, and gathering feedback are essential for honing content that stands out.

Here’s how I make the prototype phase work ↓

Draft and Refine

Start with sketches and drafts of your content.

From initial ideas to rough outlines, get multiple versions down and refine each one through feedback loops.

Use the Right Tools

From design software to project management tools, ensure you’re equipped with what you need to create and iterate on content seamlessly.

A well-resourced prototype phase sets the foundation for quality.

Prioritize Feedback

Every version is an opportunity to improve. Invite honest feedback, refine, and repeat until the content truly resonates with your audience.

Prototyping isn’t just about testing ideas—it’s about developing content that reflects your brand’s best.

It’s the step where potential becomes impact.

Here’s the #1 method I use to come up with ideas that actually work.

Focus on variety, not just volume.

"Ideating your content" sounds simple, but it’s easy to get stuck on the same formats and ideas.

Let me explain ↓

Articles connect with those who want in-depth insights.

Videos capture attention quickly and make complex ideas easy to digest.

Podcasts reach audiences on the go, creating a more personal connection.

The key?

Experimenting with formats and perspectives to find what resonates best with your brand’s unique audience.

Here’s how I do it:

Explore Different Formats

↳ Try articles, videos, social media posts, or even podcasts to see what your audience engages with most.

Encourage Bold Ideas

↳ Bring in different perspectives and don’t hold back—let wild, innovative ideas flow without judgment.

Refine Around Your Brand Story

↳ Use research and your problem statement to create a content calendar that aligns each piece with your brand’s values.

Create a Plan for Consistency

↳ Focus on delivering content that not only reaches but resonates, building a steady, reliable presence for your brand.

Moving from good ideas to a strategy that consistently engages is where real brand growth begins.

If you’re ready to move from good ideas to a strategy that consistently engages, let’s talk.

There’s not a “one-size-fits-all” approach to branding.

It’s all about defining your core problem.

We hear a lot about the "perfect" brand identity.

But what works for one business might not work for another.

Here's why:

Limited Resources:

→ Small businesses often lack the time and money for big branding campaigns.

Different Expertise Levels:

→ Not every business owner is a branding expert.

Unique Challenges:

→ Each business faces its own set of obstacles.

Try these 4 steps to define your brand’s core problem:

Build Empathy:

↳ Understand your audience deeply. Know their needs and pain points.

Clarify the Problem:

↳ Define the main issue your brand will solve. Be specific.

Create Actionable Content:

↳ Develop guides and tools to help businesses build their brand systems.

Focus on Scalability:

↳ Ensure your branding grows with your business without losing its identity.

Your brand’s core problem is unique.

Define it clearly to build a lasting brand identity.

Tools - Lets talk about it! Every great design needs more than guesswork to resonate.

When we start our process by prioritizing empathy, we make decisions that are grounded in our users' experiences. Here are some tools in my empathy toolkit:

đź”® User-Centric Research - Focuses not only on what users say they want but also on what they feel and struggle with, often providing insights they might not articulate on their own.

Identify underlying motivations and frustrations, user-centric research enables designers to address genuine needs rather than surface-level assumptions.

đź”® Empathy Mapping - Capture what users say, think, feel, and do to visualize their world.

Empathy maps are visuals tools used to capture what users say, think, feel, and do. This tools helps with creating connections and perspectives in a single view, helping designers understand users' worlds more holistically.

*Helpful tip* divide your map into four quadrants: Say, Think, Feel, and Do.

Fill each section based on user feedback and observations, allowing each quadrant to build a detailed picture of the user experience.

đź”® Emotional Connection - Building a emotional connection goes beyond solving a problem; its about creating moments in the design that resonate personally with others.

Emotional connections encourage brand loyalty and deeper engagement.

When a person feels that a brand 'gets' them, they are more likely to become some heavy advocates of your work.

It can be a differentiator that makes users choose your brand over your competition.

Focus on personalizing user experience by addressing pain points, as well as focusing on the small moments of delight that makes users feel seen and appreciated.

Incorporating these tools can foster a design process that sees users as what they are, people. instead of seeing them as data points on a chart for maximum profit.

Through user-centric research, empathy mapping, and building connections with your target people can create brands that truly resonate and inspire loyalty!

Empathy isn't just a buzzword anymore - It's becoming the cornerstone of creating brands that resonate with people. 🤝🏽

Empathizing with people means we dig deeper than latest trends or fonts.

We uncover their motivations, challenges, everything that excites them, and everything that destroys.

Thats the kind of insight that makes brands stand out.

We can do this in design as well by:

đź”® Discovery - Start off by approaching your target people to observe their behaviors and motivations. (Discovery Questions, word maps, empathy mapping)
đź”® Immersion - Step into their world to understand their challenges. (customer pain points, pit falls)
đź”® Connection - Gather insights through observation and deep research. (market research, competitor research)
đź”® Detachment - Step back and let these insights help develop into a meaningful design.

With each stage bringing us closer to creating something that isn't "Built just for users" but instead "Built with them in mind".
