Corporate America, take note! LEGO is running 100% on renewable energy 3 years ahead of schedule. Their CEO Padda states "We see children as our role models and as we take action in reducing our environmental impact as a company, we will also continue to work to inspire children around the world by engaging them in environmental and social issues.”

They're also working on switching to sustainable/biodegradable bricks.

Interesting insights in a report our friends at Dosomething.org just released "CAUSE IS WORKING, YOUR MARKETING ISN'T" that states "somewhere between the action and audience, the message is getting lost: while 58% of respondents said they are more likely to purchase from a purpose-driven brand, only 12% associated familiar brands—from adidas to Verizon—with a social cause. "

Purpose matters more than ever and young consumers are the vanguard of this shift. Many brands are stepping up—using above-the-line dollars to support a social issue or advance a cause platform.

Congrats NY! We are expected to become the 2nd state to ban single-use plastic bags in the US! Did you know the average plastic bag use is just 12 minutes! In the meantime, New Yorkers, continue to refuse them at your local stores and carry your reusable ones!

The ban, which would go into place next March, is expected to be passed as part of the state's 2020 budget deal.
