So I just finished reading an article that talks about Instagram and guess what there is no need to stress about your follower count. More than 50% of what users on instagram see is from the meta algorithm and so they are changing focus to highlight views and reach and trending away from followers and likes. Another notable change is that Meta will be sharing with you how many people share your content.

So what this means is you should be focused on delivering content that will favor the algorithm how many people see your content depends on how many likes and followers you get isn’t the true measure of the value of your content. This is definitely a great look for micro influencers like myself.

Fourth of July may be over but here’s a look at fireworks from a marketer’s point of view.

Quick social media lesson you can share with your boss:

Impressions = the number of humans in a 4mi radius of the house you’re shooting off fireworks at on July 6th (potential exposure)

Reach = the number of humans within that 4mi radius that are awake and have the ability to hear (and be annoyed at) the fireworks youre shooting off on July 6th (more accurate exposure)

Engagement = the knock on your door, the call from the cops, the toilet paper in your tree, the fine from the HOA
