Ending the week with another one of personal playlist. This one compiles my favorite songs from the greatest bar band of all time, NRBQ. I first got turned onto the “Q” back in the very early 80’s from one of the sweetest people in the world, Jill Christiansen. Jill was the tour publicist at Arista Records where I got my first job in the music industry, stapling bios and stuffing envelopes full of LPs and promo material to be sent to journalist all around the country. My tenure at Arista was a great learning experience and learning about NRBQ was one of the best takeaways. Thanks Jill!!

Our good buddy Cody Parks, out on tour with Steel Panther, did an instore in Hobart, Indiana, and came across a box full of Concrete Corner memories. That’s right folks CASSETTES!! I know a bunch of you saved your Concrete Corner samplers. If you did, whip out your phone and take a snapshot of your collection and add it to this post. Be fun to see who are those DIE HARD collectors!!

I got no connection to this artist besides the fact I think her song is fun as hell. Summer’s not here yet, but this could be my song of the summer if something doesn’t come out soon. I may even build a playlist around this track with songs from other kitschy hippish ladies like another fav female track from 2010, Elizabeth Cook’s “El Camino”. Very similar vibe. If you missed that one, worth chasing it down.

As promised, here is another playlist I’d love to share with all my friends. Having grown up in the 70’s and continuing to be a rock guy in the 80’s, glam rock and power pop are fav genres of mine. Great music from those eras. Here is a playlist of some of my favs. Please suggest great tracks that I may have missed that I can add to the selections.
