🔥🔥 Facebook Ads PRO TIP ALERT 🔥🔥
Hey guys- one of the metrics the pros pay close attention to is a metric referred to as CPMs. CPMs are essentially a measure of how much you are paying for 1,000 impressions of your ad to be shown to Facebook users.
For those of you that are familiar with Facebook ads, you notice that when you launch ads, Facebook by default will pre-select a variety of different placements where your ad will be shown- Facebook Newsfeed, Right Hand Column, Audience Network, Messenger, Instagram Feed, etc.
But one placement that is never automatically selected is Instagram stories. You know why? Because the sizing requirement for IG Stories is unusual- 1080 width x 1920 height. The images that advertisers typically upload to Facebook for common ad placements will not work for IG Stories.
The result of this is that the vast majority of advertisers do not place their ads in the story section of Instagram.....
How can you take advantage of this?
Well.... as most of you know, Facebook is an auction-based system based on supply & demand. The # of advertisers competing for IG stories is typically much lower than other placements because you need unique creative JUST for the IG story placement. Most people are lazy and don't want to do this.... DON'T LET THIS BE YOU.
As of today, we noticed that our IG story ads are getting CPMs in the $4-$5 range compared to $14-$16 for Facebook newsfeed placement... that's a 4X difference! (See screenshot attached)
So... that means if your conversion rate is consistent across placements... you could potentially reach the same # of people for 1/4 of the price!
How many of you guys are using IG stories and if not, why not?
Cheers,
IAC Team
