It’s been somewhat hard to keep up with everyone and every message alongside my life in general for quite some time. I haven’t been too warm on my phone or social media but I’m looking forward to resuming more and more online engagement as I continue to create more space for others, both physically and virtually.

Recently, I was in Little Rock. I had some things I needed to do. I was not able to do them all but surprising my grandmother on Mother’s Day was all I needed. β€œAww, sh*t” was her response when she finally realized it was me and not the person she thought it was!

While I am still gathering myself in my new city, returning home after 18 months after moving to Bushwick was much needed.

I have so many privileges that my mother created for me. People that don’t know each other show up and try to vibe just because I asked them to be there. I am so very grateful for my people. I’ll never take those things from my family and closest friends for granted. l couldn’t see everyone I wanted to see this go-round or as much as I wanted to see but I’M NOT DEAD. Damn! I’ll be back.

I moved to NY to define and push the limits I’ve created for myself. Though I am navigating fine, I am focused on the next levels.
- Defining my expertise within my industries.
- Adding to my education.
- Increasing my financial literacy.
- Continuing to build local relationships in NY.
- Upgrading equipment & staff budgets.
- Creating & participating in unique content.

I use journals and notebooks to write my goals and thoughts. Everything I’ve ever written in this journal manifested into Facilitate Local and moving to NYC despite obstacles. I feel so fulfilled right now. Mad vibes up next. Digital scrub, new website, and blog announcements after that.

Perfecting my workspaces top to bottom has been a challenge. I’m used to being able to work anywhere, anyhow but COVID restrictions have limited me to simply my own remotes workspaces as opposed to moving around remotely. I recently reorganized my main workspace and since then, I felt some challenges so I did some research. I had also lost some creative juice after losing two projects in January so I had already been revisioning my workflows and how I work in spaces.

I feel like I have my mojo back and that the new workflows and tips I am finding are working. Most of it is just understanding my iOS devices and resources better.

⭐️ Moving my desk North/NorthEast for ideal productivity.

Originally my desk was at 59˚NE. I noticed shifts in focus and productivity after moving to 218˚SW. Now I’m back at 59˚NE with some other space adjustments and it feels even better than normal. Compass on iPhone is a great tool for measuring this.

2020 hasn’t been completely disastrous. I am proud to have my next three cases lined up to start 2021. I can’t wait to share details as/when projects within each case bloom. It hasn’t all been hard work. Some call it luck, others call it blessings. I usually make fun of people that say things like this but I feel blessed and highly favored to continue to be on the path that I have blueprinted for myself. I love working on teams and enjoy corporate positions but I did this thing right here my way and that feels incredible right now. Sinatra vibes. I did it my way.

I believe business and brands that are created out of both passion and necessity are the most successful. I am proud to begin working with those reflecting that belief, especially alongside, black owners/clients, vouchable allies, and a black, female CEO as my boss.

I’ve work hard enough to reach most if not all of my mini-goals for freelance. Next up is are the big leagues.
I feel like I’m gearing up for draft day. It’s not about which round I get drafted or what team I’m going play for.
It’s about It’s about what problem I’m going to solve when I get there.

Still behind but despite setbacks, I am working overnight to ensure new content comes out tomorrow. I have been through every page of my notebooks, binders, and files. Trying to change what I had already planned is not what I needed to do. The time to raise a fund is not now. I will still be transparent about how I will and want to collaborate with others. Right now I am finally feeling 100% after dealing with some non-Covid health issues but still working at 2 new bars and prepping to move during a pandemic. This was two days ago. I been busy. I stay busy. I’ve been struggling to catch up. Today and tomorrow are my days to catch up. COVID life is strange but we all must move forward and continue to do what is best for us individually AND as a whole. It’s noon it’s early for me. Today will be dedicated to clients and podding. The current episodes of Facilitate Local podcast is available on Spotify, Apple, Facebook, YouTube, & Anchor, but I consider the next episode to be the grand puba of everything I do. It’s music related. I’ve been trying to do this for a while and there’s merch. I’m gonna be online for the next 48 hours reading and answering DMs, networking and whatnot, as well as continuing to maintain a more clear online presence. Establishing as a separate brand means that I can begin to use my IG page to do what I want to do and not be so focused on that brand, but my own. Facilitate Local is an advocacy brand for criminal justice reform. Happy Cadre LLC represents me, and Facilitate Local. For the remainder of the year, I have lined up some prospects but seeking to sponsor 5-10 brands/projects. I am truly sorry if my online presence isn’t what you want it to be. I know I haven’t been the best at that like I used to be. Since I made the decision to either be on or off social media completely and deactivated all of my Facbeook and Twitter, my real life presence is focused on remaining in a metropolitan city during a global epidemic after moving from a southern state. I’m focused on producing a set of events for Facilitate Local, putting my best foot forward in new industry spaces that I respect, and finding the people that resonate with whatever it is I could give a damn about followers and subscribers to seek attention. The measure I seek and receive is by the content of character, intent, and facilitation. So far I’ve been pretty lucky but I’ve definitely stumbled. Without any of those things, I am ill. As much as people know me for being publicly transparent, it is imperative that I take some privacy and security in these times. As of next week, Facilitate Local will also be an LLC and will fund an online, e-commerce store to raise at least 5k for policy reform in Arkansas. In addition to the new store brand, donors can sponsor and donate directly via $FacilitateLocal on CashApp. Every dollar will be transparent. There will be a special thank you package per donor for every $100 matched featuring black and brown products and allied local merchants. Current balance $200.

Ways I know I can always contribute and be better about is amplifying others and personal communication. Above are some examples of how I have recently recycled my black dollar. On another note, I let a friend borrow β€˜Without Sanctuary’ and the only thing I'm going to ask is that he recycles it to someone else. A different friend bought me the book, 'What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger’ by Damon Young. It’s so good I just keep re-reading it every time I pick it up. I will recycle that when I finish it. If I could set a trend, it would be that. Pass on a book.
