Newark native and first-year Lincoln University student Rashanna E. James-Frison has launched a citywide literacy campaign to gift 1,000 copies of her debut poetry book, The Black Unicorn: A Daughter from Newark, to 1,000 eighth grade girls by winter break 2025.
