Hey Niagara County!!! Nominate your favorite local business for 'Neighborhood Business of the Month"!

"The 'Neighborhood Business of the Month' program is a great way to recognize the small businesses that make our communities unique. These local establishments help create jobs and opportunities, while giving back to the communities they call home. I encourage residents to take a few minutes and nominate businesses they believe deserve this recognition so we can celebrate the people whose hard work helps make Niagara County a great place to live and do business."

We’re excited to officially welcome Miss Olivia’s Songbirds as a sponsor of the Niagara County Small Business Network!

And this one is extra fun for me because my own family uses Miss Olivia’s for rocking out, building confidence, and honing our musical skills. So this isn’t just a “business spotlight” from afar… we’re actual fans over here.

Miss Olivia’s Songbirds is a local music school in North Tonawanda helping kids, teens, and adults find their voice, build confidence, and have a whole lot of fun making music.

Right now, Miss Olivia is looking to connect with the community in a few ways:

• Families interested in free trial lessons
• Kids and teens who may want to join summer camps or group classes
• Local businesses or venues open to student performances
• Business owners interested in cross-marketing or collaboration
• New students ready to sing, play, perform, or just try something new

I love that she’s not just teaching music… she’s building confidence, creativity, and real connection.

So if you’ve been looking for music lessons, a summer camp that feels different, or a local business to collaborate with, please check out Miss Olivia’s Songbirds and give her a warm NCSBN welcome.

We’re excited to feature her here so more local families and businesses can enjoy what she’s building too.

Drop a comment if you’d like more info about lessons, camps, free trials, or possible collaborations!

There’s been some talk about bringing a virtual networking hangout to Niagara County…

Not the awkward kind.
Not the “say your name and business and panic” kind.

More like…

Show up, meet people, swap info, see who you actually want to follow up with.

Hyper-local.
Low pressure.
Real connections.

I want to test this out and see if it’s something we’d want to do regularly… 👀

So if you’re even a little curious…

Comment 'NETWORK' and I’ll make sure you get the invite when I finalize details. Or just message me your email. ☺️

If you're unaware... Kate Corcoran is me... The gal behind this group. I was nominated for an award and I would greatly appreciate it if you went to the original post, liked, and commented on it. 💜💜💜

I'm so honored to be nominated and hope to continue to spread word of this awesome group you all have helped me build in hope to further impact our amazing business community in Niagara County.

I don’t even know how to start this without sounding a little unhinged so we’re just gonna go with it.

I want to personally thank Mariah Snyder from mariahmagazine.com for nominating me for this year’s award. Seriously… thank you. I was genuinely honored just to find out about the nomination.

Because if I’m being real?

I’ve kind of been… quietly fading into the background of my own business lately. Letting things run. Letting myself be a little more behind-the-scenes.

And then this happens.

And I’m like… oh.

People still see me.

I’m honored.
I’m emotional.
I’m excited.

And honestly? I’m a little fired up again.
Because this past year has been dedicated to figuring out my health… and WOW has it been a fu***ng doozy.

Like… truly one of those years where your body just keeps throwing plot twists and you’re like ??? can we not.

But even in all of that, in my quieter, more reflective, “what is happening” era…

I’m still being noticed.
I’m still being considered impactful.
Which is… kind of blowing my mind a little bit.

So yeah. Gosh damn. Thank you.

I was nominated alongside nearly 60 other incredible women (I haven’t met you all yet, but I’m sure you’re amazing and slightly intimidating in the best way).

And while my fragrance allergy means I won’t be able to attend the event...

Please know this still means a lot.

Like… a lot a lot.

Thank you for seeing me, even when I felt like I was disappearing a little.
