Coweta residents, a new kind of healthcare is opening right here in our community, and we were one of the first to take a look inside.

Dr. Poorvi Pfenning is a board-certified family and lifestyle medicine physician who created Vital Roots Direct Primary Care after experiencing the limits of traditional healthcare firsthand, long waits, rushed visits, and not enough time to truly listen.

Her space reflects a different approach: unrushed visits, direct access to your doctor, and care focused on root causes and real life, not just prescriptions.

⚠️ Weather Alert: Tornado Watch for Coweta County ⚠️

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Coweta County and surrounding areas until 2:00 PM today.

This watch includes parts of West Central Georgia, including:
• Coweta
• Chattahoochee
• Harris
• Meriwether
• Muscogee
• Troup

Cities affected include Newnan, Columbus, Fort Benning, Manchester, Pine Mountain, and West Point.

A watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop. Please stay weather-aware, keep alerts on, and have a plan just in case.

If you enjoy local history, this one’s worth a look
This February, the Historic Veranda Inn in Senoia is hosting a living-history experience that gives a glimpse into what everyday life looked like more than a century ago.

The Inn itself has been part of Senoia for generations, and events like this are a great reminder of how much history is right in our own backyard.

100 years ago Nickola Tesla predicted that "one day" humans will be able to communicate with one another with a device so small it will fit in their pocket! Oh how far we have come in a century! Curious about what day to day life was like back that long ago? Learn some cool history at the century old Historic Veranda Inn in Senoia Georgia this February! (And yes I'm sharing this event on the very type of device Tesla predicted).

Not every day, peace walks through Coweta. Buddhist monks will be in Sharpsburg tonight on a cross-country Walk for Peace.

A group of Buddhist monks participating in a cross-country Walk for Peace pilgrimage will be stopping in Sharpsburg tonight (Sunday, Dec. 28) between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. Their overnight rest stop will be at 50 Braves Crossing Dr.
