It’s May!!! Well actually it’s May 22nd so it’s been May for a while but it is now my BIRTHDAY WEEK!!!! as most of you know that follow me on here, I’m running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon this year as it is the year I turn 40!! I am running with the Alzheimer's Association. I’m half way into my training and just over half way with my fundraising. Phew! After running the Indy Mini this weekend, I figured today’s 4 mile run would be easy … it was NOT! I guess I’m still a little sore haha

It’s a beautiful day for a distance run 🏃🏻‍♀️ 8 miles today and my kiddos joined me (on their bikes) I like this pace for my long distance. Hoping to speed it up eventually but running into the wind for the first half wasn’t easy

After my 3 mile run yesterday I ran a recovery 6 miles today. I was going to try for 7 but I went too fast out the gate and got tired and honestly my legs were sore. So rest day tomorrow and back at it Monday!! I did sign up at Planet Fitness so the weather wouldn’t effect my running schedule. And todays weather is terrible. Super windy and rainy (yuck) but it was HOT AF in there today.

Miss me?!?! Its been awhile since I have posted but I wanted to let you all know, as I am sure you are waiting on the edges of your seats, I am still training!! We are 7 weeks in - - - 7WEEKS IN!!! I am up to 7 miles for my distance runs. I went for a pace run with Wrigley - that was a mistake for a couple reasons, he stopped everywhere to potty (running with a p**p bag in my pocket was gross) he couldn't make it 2.5 miles and unrelated to the dog, my DUMB headphones kept falling out. I don't know if you remember, a few weeks back I asked for ear bud recommendations. Well, I still haven't gotten new ones and I regret it! Tomorrow, thanks to my Best Buy hookup, I am getting some Beats ear buds that have the wrap around the ears thing. Hopefully they stay put. Thanks for the read and staying tuned

Week one of marathon training complete!!! I know I have many to go but I am so proud of myself for sticking to it 🏃🏻‍♀️

Day 1- Ran a tough 2 miles in the cold (didn’t dress warm enough)
Day 2- Biked a vigorous 30 min (cross train day)
Day 3- **rest day**
Day 4- Ran a much easier 3 miles (weather was much more pleasant but SUPER windy)
Day 5- 45 min of Strength Training
Day 6- Ran 4 miles on the treadmill (so so so much easier than running outside)
Day 7- **rest day** (tomorrow)
