Next in the Copywriting for Emails section of my course, we were to write a spec email for Macy's Men's Fall Sweater Event. We are communicating to men ages 28-45 with household incomes above $50,000 who are motivated by savings, convenience, and style. We want the consumer to visit their local Macy's store September 8-10 and purchase sweaters. The tone of the email should be promotional, urgent, and clever.

My copywriting course had a unit focused specifically on email copy. For this particular assignment, we were to create a spec email for Johnson's Baby Conditioner. The target audience is parents of 0-2 year-olds who are looking to purchase top-quality products for their children. Our goal is to have the consumer visit our website to learn more about the product and to download a coupon to purchase it. The main message and benefit to the consumer is that using Johnson's Baby Conditioner will help parents keep their children's hair and scalps moisturized with its "no tears" formula. The email should be written in a friendly, sincere, knowledgeable, and helpful tone.

This next project for my copywriting course was to create a spec web page for a Cheetos college contest! We were to target college students aged 18-22 with a goal of having them enter a contest by submitting their names and contact information, and Cheetos will then send coupons and promotions to keep the brand top-of-mind among this demographic. The contest winner will receive a supply of Cheetos to last through their college years. A secondary goal is to have page visitors share the contest with their friends, so a "share" button is necessary. The web page should be written in a bold, fun, exciting, cheeky, promotional and urgent tone.
