Stomping Boot Art

Stomping Boot Art Utah painter with color and narration, a little death metal, a little supplication. Painting has saved my life. Someday!

It shows me who I really am, not who I think I am --that I am no better or worse than anyone else. I paint what I sense without censorship and it's a full mind/body/spirit prayer to the Seventh Muse. I welcome collaborations and someday hope to have a not-for-profit space where creatives can find sanctuary to explore their souls.

“Stomp a canvas. Heel a sole.”

I don't take myself as seriously as I used to, but I take the creative process with deep respect and appreciation, because it has helped me get past terrible places in my life and continues to do so. I’m mostly happy and definitely alive, when I make art. When I’m out in the natural world by myself, I love experiencing the earth’s raw spirit and the ideas that she inspires. But I also need humans (a creative cluster), heavy music, poetry, movement, textures, absolute freedom -- all intense and as sensory as possible. I whip, slash, throw, kick, glue, and stomp my paintings, whatever the impulse. I am honest and uncensored during my work and unapologetic when it’s complete. Art making has locked up the demons of depression and alcoholism. It has saved my life in bits and pieces over time and given it the depth I painfully craved. I believe in its synergy with my soul (and all souls) and I am always stoked when others with that same pulse come along. Surely, I hope that no artist out there is lonely and despairing. If so, let’s talk and do this art thing together.
