Fearless Friday: East Coast Bash Why Do They Keep Coming Back?💨

East Coast didn’t start drifting — they shaped its American soul.

East Coast stayed true to: roaring engines, beat-up cars, max seat time, and zero big biz vibes.

Club Loose wrapped up the 19th Annual East Coast Bash at Englishtown — 19 years strong and still one of the purest grassroots events in the country.

Drift Appalachia is running strong - 100% mountain touge stages in Kentucky and West Virginia — bringing that backroad vibe roaring into 2026.

The East Coast scene never faded and it sure didn't burn out.
It evolved.
It stayed loud.
It gets stronger every year.

Still growing, still sending it, and still living up to its savage reputation.
Thanks for riding with us on this East Coast Drift.

Tuesday Throwdown: The Godfather of East Coast Drifting – Tony Angelo🚀

Origins - East Coast drifting. In the early 2000s, Tony Angelo and Chris Forsberg were already sliding turbo FC RX-7s on Pennsylvania backroads and parking lots — long before drifting became a national thing. They helped organize the first real East Coast drift days at Englishtown, Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, NJ—

Tony got tired of the loose, unorganized drama. One night he threw out the idea: “We should do Drift Alliance.” He and Chris formed the core, brought in drivers like Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Ryan Tuerk, and turned it into one of the most influential teams in U.S. drifting. From there, Tony went on to compete in the very first Formula Drift season in 2004.

He traveled the country and the world, including events in Europe and Asia, earned multiple top-10 finishes, and shaped the sport while never forgetting his East Coast roots. From missile cars at Englishtown to Hot Rod Garage and his current Stay Tuned builds — Tony Angelo is a true pioneer.

Both coasts discovered drifting around the same time through Japan, but the East Coast built its own loud, wrench-heavy, no-handout scene — and Tony was right at the front of it. This is where East Coast drifting started. Who’s your favorite East Coast O.G.?
