Garret here.

I just got off the phone with a client of mine who is building a platform for his listenership, and coming up with content ideas for content sponsors. He called to ask if I thought it was a good idea to open up in one of his videos about what the process has been like for him to build the platform he is, and if it was relevant enough.

I said absolutely.

To put it into context, I told him I've been — for the last several weeks or so — working on mastering the all-powerful Rubik's Cube. It bugged me there was a puzzle out there that I didn't know how to solve. Using it as a reason to pick up something tangible instead of scrolling, I sat and struggled with getting down the principles of this 3x3 cube for compounding hours of my life.

I kept researching the methods and the formulas in an effort to memorize them. Until, suddenly, one piece of it clicked. And then another, and then another. I abandoned my favorite how-to website and it became a tab on my phone I couldn't find if you asked.

I told my client that if I were to open up and share that story to anyone (not that I could suddenly just solve a Rubik's Cube, which he thought was neat) about the banging-my-head-against-wall moments, it wouldn't matter if that someone was also fighting that 50+ year old enigma of a puzzle. It doesn't matter what problem they're trying to solve.

There's a point of connection with another human in simply the opening up about the frustrations of the journey to solve a Rubik's Cube.

Business coaches have told me, my family has told me, friends have told me. Vulnerability is the key to connection. Publishing content about the product you're selling is rented attention. Demonstrating you understand how to solve a problem, and that you care enough about the problem to keep trying? That's the key to building long-term trust.

Garret, owner and founder here.

We all use AI. I use AI frequently, excessively, consciously. I run to it with to-do list items, develop my ideas around content and branding using prompts I've developed over two years with my Claude agent. It has become an integral part of my day-to-day life and my business ecosystem.

But, I will not, and will never, use it as a way to remove myself from the process.

To this day, people ask me why I don't use AI tools that will take my hours of video editing down to seconds in my work for my content creators. Why I don't use Opus to cut down videos for social posts. Why I don't have a full content scheduling flow that's driven completely by one of the myriad of apps on the market.

Why even this social post couldn't be configured by a bot that knows the ins and outs of my company almost better than I do.

It all comes down to one critical concept, and my client Anthony Trucks identified it in one of his daily podcasts.

"If you are building faster, make sure you're not building softer."

This is what AI will do to the next generation of small business owners. it generates pages of content faster than we can type out a business email. It makes us efficient machines that can stop developing new skills, if we let it take over. It's no different than buying a $2,500 camera, only to use the automatic settings. No concept of what makes ISO different from your apiture.

So I'll ask you the same thing Anthony asked in his video: Are you building your business faster? Great. But are you building softer? That's the one worth sitting with.

Most businesses have something worth saying, but the problem is that very few have anyone making sure people actually hear it. Businesses work with clients, register for workshops and hire professionals looking to solve the problem, but it turns into product promotions with the goal of quickly picking up more leads.

What ends up lacking is the content that positions your company, your brand as an expert in the space and a thought leader in the noise of social media.

That's the gap GR Amplify Studio was built to close.

We're a content studio based in Omaha. We work with speakers, thought leaders, and growing businesses to build the content engine that keeps their audience engaged week after week.

Ultimately, it's about building trust, and that won't happen as long as your marketing strategy is simply lead generation. It's great to build an audience, but it's a moot point if you don't retain them.

Follow along. We want to walk our walk, and show you where the gaps are in your market.
