The exposure is alarming, it's now being seen beyond human lungs ‼️⚠️

A new study led by Oregon State University researchers is raising important questions about the potential health risks of long-term radon exposure.

Researchers followed nearly 160,000 women for an average of 18 years and found that higher estimated residential radon concentrations were associated with a higher risk of malignant cancers of the brain and central nervous system.

This research adds to growing questions about how radon exposure may affect health beyond its established link to lung cancer. More research is needed, but the findings are worth paying attention to.

Here’s what we know for sure: radon is invisible, odorless, and impossible to detect without testing. You can’t tell whether your home has elevated levels just by looking around.

At National Radon Defense, we believe awareness is the first step toward protecting more families. As research continues, the need for radon education, testing, and professional mitigation remains clear.

🚨🚨🚨

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer and often caught too late. Here's how to check for it at your home and what to do if it's found.

Our mission has always been bigger than the work we do.

It’s about helping protect people, improving the places they live, and making healthier homes possible.

We’re joining millions in raising awareness for breast cancer, honoring those affected, supporting those fighting, and remembering those we’ve lost.

It’s also a reminder of why health awareness matters. Some health risks are visible. Others aren’t.

Radon is one of the risks you can’t see, smell, or detect without testing. That’s why our mission is to raise awareness, encourage testing, and help more families understand the air inside their homes.

Different causes. Same reminder: Our health matters. Our families matter. And awareness can make a difference.

This October, let’s keep the conversation going. 💗

Years ago, HGTV’s Mike Holmes spoke in support of mandatory radon testing. One line in particular still hits:

“Sometimes it's the things you can't see that end up causing the most harm - things like radon.”

NRD's mission has always been about more than installing mitigation systems. It’s about raising awareness, helping more people understand the risks of radon, and building a network of professionals who can do something about it.

And for business owners, that mission creates an opportunity. Mike's journey was a success in the radon mitigation industry,

There are millions of homes, buildings, schools, and businesses where radon awareness is still growing. Someone has to educate. Someone has to test. Someone has to provide the solution.

That someone could be you!

The need is invisible. The opportunity isn’t.
