As The Third Act by Mark T Smith comes to a close, I want to take a moment to celebrate everyone who made this exhibition a resounding success.
First, thank you to Mark T. Smith for entrusting me with your vision and art – it was an honor to bring it to life. To Courtney Potter, your selfless advocacy and introduction to Mark ensured he was in the best hands – I’m forever grateful.
A huge shoutout to the incredible WOW Brand Studios team, Jhon Morales (cinematographer), and Fabio Bahiense (photographer) for embracing all the out-of-the-box ideas – from multiple locations and cities to interviews in unique environments – and creating a story that was fearless, ego-free, and entirely original. Thank you also to Benny Colon from The Commission Beer Chamber for providing the NY styling from your venue.
This exhibition was a one-of-a-kind collaboration in Orlando, bridging academia, museums, and galleries. Jillian Pinni elevated the exhibition as part of the Emerging Curator Program from the University of Delaware, in conjunction with Margaret Winslow, head curator of the Delaware Art Museum, showing that collaboration among professionals isn’t just possible – it’s essential. Thank you to John William Gallery for being part of this journey.
Our sponsors played a pivotal role in elevating the experience – The Boisset Collection and Casa Obsidiana Tequila for the exquisite wine and spirits, and Synovus Bank for supporting the locally sourced bites at opening night.
And finally, immense gratitude to Boris Douglas Garbe and Juan Pablo Santa Luna from Mills Gallery for opening the doors of Orlando’s voted best gallery and hosting an exhibition that has truly marked a new chapter for the Orlando art scene. Exciting things are ahead, so keep an eye out for their upcoming events!
This exhibition proves that vision, trust, and collaboration can create something unforgettable. Thank you all for being part of it.
