Did you know we used to own a Venue? If anything this really made me smile today when I came across this bio for our little venue.

Connect Live — Acworth, Georgia

Connect Live, originally known as Connect Live Venue & Studios, was an independent, all-ages music venue, recording/rehearsal space, coffee shop, and creative hub located at 6835 Victory Drive in Acworth, Georgia.

During its run, Connect Live became an important part of the north Atlanta underground music community. Rather than operating simply as another bar or concert room, the venue was built around musicians and the people who supported them. It provided a place where young bands, local original artists, and nationally touring acts could share the same stage in an intimate, DIY environment.

More Than a Music Venue

Connect Live combined several ideas under one roof: an all-ages concert venue, recording and rehearsal space, coffee shop, food, and a gathering place for musicians and fans.

That combination made it particularly valuable to younger musicians and fans who often had limited access to Atlanta’s traditional 18+ and 21+ venues.

The room became known for aggressive and eclectic bills spanning metalcore, hardcore, punk, emo, alternative rock, indie, Christian rock, deathcore, blues, and other underground genres.

Connect Live also served an important role on the touring circuit. Traveling bands moving through the Southeast could stop in Acworth while emerging Georgia artists were given opportunities to open those shows and build audiences of their own.

The Legacy of Connect Live

Connect Live’s importance wasn’t measured by the size of the room.

It was a grassroots music venue—the kind of place where a young local band could play alongside an established touring artist, where musicians could rehearse or record, and where fans could discover bands before they reached much larger stages.

For several years, Connect Live helped connect Atlanta’s suburban music community with the larger national underground touring circuit.

Hundreds of musicians, fans, friends, employees, promoters and families passed through the building. Some of the artists who played there continued on to larger tours, record deals and considerably bigger stages.

The physical venue may be gone, but for the people who were part of it, Connect Live represented something bigger than a concert room: it was a community built around original music.
