Meet JayJay. JayJay (as named by my kid) is a little nestling that Joey found on the sidewalk of my mother's house last night. And he's going to help me demonstrate an example of Conversion Content.

Conversion content is designed to help you share pieces of YOUR life with your audience WHILE getting them to take action on something. It follows a simple formula: Hook, Story, Transition, Lesson, Action.

MY SEVEN YEAR OLD SAVED THIS BABY BIRD
and it's the perfect metaphor for owning your own business

Yesterday I was leaving my mom's and my kid said "mom, what is THIS?!" while pointing to something on the sidewalk. I looked and watched it stick its little head up and open its little mouth and hoolllllyyy s**t that's a baby bird.
(I didn't say the S-word out loud but you KNOW I thought it.)

I told him it was a baby bird, put down the stuff in my hands, and picked it up. My mom came out to find out what the heck was going on and we stood there... honestly, a little helpless. It was after 9pm at night, no wildlife rescues were open, and we had ZERO idea how to handle this bird. He was MAYBE two days old so we couldn't feed him, he was in the middle of the sidewalk with no nests nearby so we couldn't put him back anywhere...

So we did the best we could and put him in a flower pot near where we knew there was a nest of birds. Hoping they'd take pity on him and feed him. Joey cried most of the way home, worried about the bird he named JayJay. Asking if he was going to die. I had to tell my kid that I just didn't know.

This morning my mom calls to tell me that JayJay was still ALIVE! I couldn't believe it - but you bet your bottom dollar I called the rescue, got the OK to bring him in, and rushed him up there as fast as my super-cool minivan would allow me.

The lady took him, said he was probably a cat bird, and JayJay is now in the best possible care he can be. I was H-Y-P-E-D up... and she was calm, collected, and 100% had seen this exact situation before, I'm sure of it. I left feeling a) AWESOME about myself for taking that action and b) really, really hopeful for JayJay's future.

So how does this relate to your business?

Well, my dear friend... YOU are that baby bird sometimes. A little helpless, laying in the middle of the sidewalk. And the sidewalk can be overwhelmed or underinformed or just... lost. And so all you can do sometimes is the best you can do and cozy up to where you know smart people hang out and hope for some sustenance.

OR you can hang in there and make it until the proverbial morning. When you can get to the experts who can help you with what you've got going on. Who can show you the right way to grow.

Poke the bruise! 👉🏼 ⠀

Sounds weird, right? ⠀

But think about it. If you bump into something, it hurts. But then it stops hurting, and later you may be left with a little purple circle on your arm. It stops hurting, but it still exists. ⠀

The same is true for the pain that your ideal client is in. They aren't walking through their day with active pain, but it's still there in the background. ⠀

Your copy should be triggering that pain and poking that bruise, so you can re-activate that hidden inactive pain. ⠀
