"🙋 A CEO's typical Tuesday morning:

7:02 AM: Answer 3 sales emails
7:45 AM: Wonder why the website isn't converting
8:30 AM: Ask the intern to "figure out social media"
9:00 AM: Decide to table the marketing strategy… again
9:15 AM: Back to the actual business

Sound familiar? 😅

We get it. Marketing keeps sliding to the bottom of the list because there's no one owning it with the same seriousness as you own the rest of the business.

That's exactly what a Fractional CMO is for.

Someone who actually OWNS your marketing outcomes without the full-time executive price tag.

The whiteboard is where the noise stops and the revenue begins.

Reflecting on this past year, I am incredibly grateful for the partnerships we’ve built with owners in the renewable energy and medical staffing sectors. We navigated shifting regulations and talent shortages together, and we came out stronger. Thank you for trusting us with your vision.

But as we look at the fresh year ahead, the question every CEO is asking is: Is my sales strategy actually aligned with my marketing reality?

If you are looking at your 2026 projections and seeing a gap between 'ambition' and 'plan,' let’s fix that.

Here is to a year of clarity, strategy, and scalable growth. Happy New Year.

As the year comes to a close, we’ve been reflecting on what truly fueled progress for us in 2025.

Not trends. Not noise. But intentional choices that created clarity, consistency, and momentum for us and for the clients we serve.

Here are five things that made the biggest difference this year:

1️⃣ Choosing the Right Fit On Purpose

We leaned into working with leadership teams who value strategy, clarity, and long-term growth. Saying “no” more often made the “yes” work better for everyone.

2️⃣ Anchoring Everything to Our 5 Drivers

Clarity, visibility, systems, lead engine and sales conversion weren’t just concepts they became decision filters. When things felt complex, we returned to what mattered most.

3️⃣ Deepening Our HubSpot Partnership

We are HubSpot partners. HubSpot is your complete CRM resource. As partners, we have access to exclusive resources that level up our expertise and client successes. HubSpot reloeased over 200 new features this year!

4️⃣ Integrating AI, Thoughtfully

This year wasn’t about chasing AI. It was about integrating it responsibly into content creation, planning, and project management improving quality, consistency, and speed without losing strategy or voice giving us the ability to scale with informed decision making.

5️⃣ Building Space for Better Work

We refined how we manage projects, collaborate, and communicate creating more space for thoughtful work, fewer fire drills, and better outcomes for our clients.

As we head into the holiday season, we’re grateful for the leaders and teams who trusted us with meaningful work this year, especially across HR agencies, healthcare staffing, and renewable energy.

Here’s to clarity over chaos, momentum over noise, and progress that lasts into the new year.

The Grid's Getting an Upgrade — Are You?

Remember when your old flip phone finally gave out and you realized *maybe* it was time for a smartphone?
Yeah, the energy grid is having that moment—except this time, it’s batteries doing the heavy lifting. 🔋

According to WIRED, **grid-scale battery storage is booming**. In fact:
- Capacity has already *quintupled* since 2021
- And it's set to *double again* in 2025

**Translation for business owners:**
The future of energy isn't just about creating it—it's about storing it, delivering it, and marketing it smarter.

**If you’re in renewable energy, here’s what you need to know:**
- 🛠️ **New solutions need new messaging.** Customers don't just want “green” anymore—they want *resilient* and *reliable*.
- 🚀 **Growth is speeding up.** More batteries = more jobs = more competition.
- 🎯 **The early birds aren’t just getting worms—they’re locking down markets.**

**Moral of the story:**
If your sales tactics still sound like 2015, it’s time to plug into 2025.

After all, even Grandma upgraded to Wi-Fi. 📡

Does your 2025 growth plan include messaging around energy storage? If not… should it?

Last week, I had the chance to ride Austin’s new Light Rail system.
Electric. Street-level. Clean. Quiet.
(And let’s be honest — faster than I could’ve driven across town in rush hour.)

Austin’s Light Rail was approved back in 2020, and while it’s still expanding, it’s a glimpse into the future we’ve been working toward for years: **accessible, sustainable, electric transportation.**

As someone who’s spent much of her career marketing renewable energy businesses, riding that train felt personal.

Here’s why I’m such a fervent supporter of electric transportation:
🌱 **It reduces emissions at the source.** (No tailpipes. No fumes. Just progress.)
🚋 **It reconnects communities.** Street-level light rail makes clean mobility available to *everyone*, not just those with EVs.
**It shows what's possible.** Every ride is a reminder that clean energy isn’t a theory. It’s a movement that’s already rolling down the tracks.

At Marketing Monsoon, our mission has always been about **sparking predictable, sustainable growth** — not just for our clients, but for the industries moving us toward a better future.

That means helping renewable energy businesses **stand out**, **scale up**, and **lead the conversation** — so more solutions get adopted, faster.

Because if a single train line can change how a city moves, imagine what a powerful marketing strategy can do for a company building the next era of energy.

**The momentum is here. Are you ready to ride it?**

Navigating Renewable Energy Marketing in a Shifting Policy Landscape

For marketers in renewable energy and cleantech, the key challenge is positioning businesses for success amid fluctuating policy support. The solution lies in differentiation, education, and strategic partnerships.

✅Highlighting Reliability: Advances in energy storage and geothermal energy offer continuous power, providing an opportunity to emphasize reliability in messaging to both commercial and residential audiences.
✅Leveraging Tech Investments: Tech giants prioritizing renewables boost credibility and demand. Marketers can use these shifts to validate the economic and environmental benefits of clean energy.
✅Addressing Policy Concerns: With uncertainty around tax credits and infrastructure investments, focus messaging on long-term savings, resilience, and state-level incentives.

Despite challenges like high capital costs and transmission limits, renewable momentum remains strong. Now is the time to refine marketing strategies, educate stakeholders, and drive demand despite policy headwinds. The future of clean energy isn't just about technology—it's about effectively communicating its value.

So, how are you adapting your messaging in today's shifting landscape?

Here's what we read: https://bit.ly/3GI78iq

President Donald Trump revoked renewable energy project provisions within the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, vexing the industry.

In the 1970s, a group of educators in Sonoma County noticed something alarming—history books barely mentioned women’s contributions. Instead of accepting the gaps, they decided to rewrite the narrative, creating what would become Women’s History Month.

It’s a powerful reminder that progress starts with seeing what’s missing—and then doing something about it.

In business, we see the same challenge. So many innovative companies in healthcare B2B are solving major problems, yet their stories go untold. Their impact isn’t fully recognized. But history proves that visibility changes everything.

Women’s History Month isn’t just about the past—it’s about learning from those who pushed for recognition and making sure that today’s leaders, businesses, and innovators get the visibility they deserve.

**🚀 Boards Need Marketing’s Voice—Here’s Why**

Too many companies still leave their CMOs **out** of boardroom discussions. They rely on outdated thinking that sees marketing as a cost center instead of a **growth driver.**

But here’s the truth: **Marketing shapes business strategy.**

📊 Fractional CMOs track market trends, customer behavior, and competitive positioning.
🎯 We align sales, product, and customer success to drive sustainable revenue.
⚡ We bring insights that **boards NEED** to make smarter decisions.

Yet, I've seen firsthand what happens when marketing is left out… **Missed opportunities. Market misalignment. Slower growth.**

It’s time for companies to wake up:

✅ **Include Fractional CMOs in board meetings** when discussing strategy.
✅ **Add marketing experts** to board leadership.
✅ **Let Fractional CMOs present** insights directly, not through a filter.

If you want to **scale, stay ahead of competitors, and truly understand your customers,** marketing MUST have a seat at the table.

👉 **What’s your experience? Have you seen the impact of marketing being included—or excluded—from board decisions? Let’s talk in the comments!**

Alan Gonsenhauser spurred us on to share: https://hubs.ly/Q036p3qY0

Boards need marketing's strategic voice more than ever. Yet many companies still exclude CMOs from board meetings, relying on dated assumptions about marketing's role.
