Trust isn't a bonus in creative partnerships. It's the foundation everything else runs on.

Our Senior Project Manager, Tom Marrone, wrote about what that looks like in practice and how it gets built between two teams over time.

For Black Girls Code , the website needed to reflect not just who they are, but what they teach. We built a digital experience that feels like home, where students, parents, and supporters can easily connect, learn, and grow together.

We used modern, scalable technology to create a real-world example for students learning to code. As a playful touch, we added hidden interactive Easter eggs throughout the site, inviting curious minds to explore, experiment, and discover the magic of coding.

A resilient city is one people can navigate.

When residents understand what's offered, find it easily, and feel welcome using it, participation follows. So does trust. Those two build slowly and hold for a long time.

We help cities and public agencies design for that, through brand systems, campaigns, wayfinding, and digital platforms.

If your city has a project ahead, we'd love to hear where you're headed 👋

What role should design play in the future of our cities?

In his latest Insights article, Pastilla Founder & CEO Rudy E. Manning explores a question that has shaped much of our work over the past decade: Why isn’t design more deeply embedded in the systems people rely on every day?

From public services and digital experiences to civic identity, communication, and community engagement, design has the power to improve how people interact with the places they call home. Yet in many public-sector environments, it is still treated as secondary rather than foundational.

This article reflects on the opportunities, challenges, and responsibility of designing for public good—and why investing in thoughtful, human-centered design can help create more trusted, accessible, and resilient communities.

The work matters, but so does the way you get there.

We’re grateful for partners like California CASA who make space for collaboration, care, and ideas that can grow into something meaningful.

For AI, being mentioned may matter as much as being linked to.

AI engines pay attention to recommendations on Reddit, top 10 lists, social media, and other trusted sources. That means part of your search visibility now belongs in the PR strategy.

“Is SEO dead?” No. But the way people search is changing.

More people are asking ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini instead of typing into Google, and many never click past the AI summary. So the goal shifts: be the answer AI trusts enough to reference.

The fix is smaller than you think. Here's where to start 👉 https://pastilla.co/insights/ai-search-optimization/

Short meetings aren't a policy of ours. They're a core value. Literally.

We design for real life, and real life doesn't have time for a meeting that could've been an email.

What's your team's trick for keeping meetings short? 👇
