Speak Out Illinois LLC obtained body camera footage through a lawful Illinois FOIA request relating to the April 2026 DUI arrest investigation involving the Mayor of Peoria Heights, Illinois.
According to publicly reported information, officers located the Mayor asleep inside an SUV before an arrest was made for alleged DUI-related offenses. The matter has since generated public discussion regarding “actual physical control” of a vehicle under Illinois law, while defense counsel has publicly stated they expect the charges to be cleared.
