3 road prep mistakes I made on my first cross-country rally:

1. Ignoring cold tire pressures: Ambient temp drops in the mountains change your contact patch drastically. Check them cold every morning.

2. Skipping radio checks: A dead comms unit means missing crucial road hazard calls from the lead car.

3. Overpacking the cabin: Unsecured gear in a high-G turn isn’t just annoying—it’s a safety hazard.
