I can’t even with how March went…

This month has been full of wins, growth, and just all-around agency magic.

Here’s a little recap of what went down:

✅ We welcomed a national client from California into the agency. Super excited to watch their accounts grow!

✅ We’re hiring! Our team is expanding and I’m so excited to bring in more amazing people to help us make magic happen for our clients.

✅We booked a speaking engagement in June with the local library. Can’t wait to share more details soon.

March was busy, full of energy, and a little wild. That is exactly what growth looks like.

I’m so proud of this team and everything we’re building together and I can’t wait to see what April has in store.

Five years ago today I was scared out of my mind.

I formed an LLC, had zero idea what I was doing, and was just riding on a whole lot of hope.

Don’t mind the selfie, the hair, the comfy pants, and the fact that I may or may not have a nice shirt on just for Zoom calls some days.

This is 5 years in business.

I thought about doing the whole thing. Dressing up, taking a perfectly curated photo, maybe a cute little cupcake moment with candles and a “look how far we’ve come” caption.

But if I’m being honest… this is what it actually looks like. Hair up, some mascara and lipgloss, sitting in my office, a little tired, a lot proud, and still figuring things out as I go.

Five years ago I had no idea what this would turn into.

I’ve had other careers before this, but this one… this one became something bigger than I ever expected. Not just a business, but a team, clients I care deeply about, relationships, responsibility, growth.

And it has not been easy.

There were moments I questioned everything. Moments where things felt heavy. Moments where I wondered if I was doing enough, being enough, leading well enough.

But we stayed.

And that matters because according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 50% of businesses don’t make it to five years.

We did.

Not only did we make it, we are growing, we are evolving, and we are just getting started.

(Stay tuned because later this year we do have a big surprise coming!)

So no, you’re not getting a perfectly curated version of me today.

You’re getting the real one.

A little tired, very grateful, really proud, and fully ready for the next 5 years.

Happy 5 Years to Morton Marketing 417 LLC🎉

Never have I ever…

(Business owner and social media edition)

Let’s play a game & I’ll go first.

…opened Facebook to post and 40 minutes later I’m watching my competitors' content wondering why mine isn’t working.
…sat down to create content, stared at my phone, and suddenly forgot every idea I’ve ever had.
…defaulted to another Canva graphic or AI-written caption because I didn’t have the time or know-how to get on video.

If you’re like “okay rude”… same.

This isn’t a consistency problem.

It’s what happens when your content doesn’t actually have a strategy behind it. You’re busy running a business, you don’t have the bandwidth to create content that moves the needle, and what’s being posted isn’t really helping your business grow.

When you show up intentionally and in your own voice, that’s when things start working.

If this sounds like you, book a 90-min strategy call with me where we will map out a social media plan so you’ll know step by step what you need to do to grow your business.

You know that business you’re following on social media, maybe you even consider them your competitor, who:

✅ Posts 3+ times a week
✅ Shares Reels that actually convert (products, services, staff, behind-the-scenes)
✅ Shows up in Stories daily to connect or sell
✅ Gets consistently mentioned in local Facebook groups

Yeah, they’re working with a social media agency like mine.

The truth is that business has a CEO and team who value both their time and the power of social media marketing and they know social media is not their area of expertise, so they trust the experts to get it done right.

Agencies like mine know exactly what to post to:
• Boost engagement
• Generate more inquiries
• Bring more awareness
• Position you as the leader in your industry

You and your team don’t have to do it all yourself. Trying to do everything will only lead to burnout, stress, and frustration.

I have 2 full-service social media management spots open. If you want your social media to actually work for your business, build credibility, and start turning followers into paying customers, this is your chance.

You know those nights you wish you could bottle up forever?

Last night was one of them.

After months of planning, our engagement dinner finally happened at , one of our favorite spots after 6 years of date nights. Over 30 of our favorite humans came to celebrate. Old friends met new friends and the love in that room was unreal.

We DIYed the centerpieces, had a custom tasting, a red velvet cake from , games, and even some buttery ni**le shots (of course 👀).

But the best part was the people, the laughter, the hugs, and the pure, overwhelming gratitude.

“Fly Me to Forever” is our theme, our love, our adventure, and a reminder that the real wealth is in the people who show up. 🥂

If you think good marketing is expensive… wait until you see the cost of bad marketing.

The most common objection I hear is, “That’s too expensive.”

So let’s reframe that.

If you hired one full-time employee to handle social media alone, you’d likely spend $40k+ a year.

If you wanted a true marketing director, you’re looking at $70–80k+ and that’s before benefits, payroll, or training.

And even then, you’re relying on one person.

With my team, you get a full organic social media system rooted in strategy, transparency, and collaboration, not just random posts.

We:
• build the strategy
• write the copy
• design the graphics
• edit the videos
• manage engagement
• schedule everything

No guessing.
No scrambling to “figure out what to post.”
No wondering when you’ll have time to market your business.

And quality doesn’t drop, it improves.

Because our systems are built to create a consistent, converting presence without burning you out or bloating your payroll.

You’re not paying healthcare.
You’re not paying payroll taxes.
You’re not training an in-house team.

Just a smarter way to invest in marketing.

“We don’t post a lot, but it’s not something we’re losing sleep over… ya know what I mean?”

That’s literally what was said to me on a call yesterday.

And honestly? I don’t know what they mean because in 2026, thinking like this is dangerous when you own a business.

Social media isn’t just another task. It’s the backbone of your marketing.

Ignoring it doesn’t just leave opportunities on the table, it drags down everything else you’re doing. Ads, email campaigns, partnerships, even word-of-mouth, they all perform better when people are seeing and trusting your brand online consistently.

Not posting consistently isn’t harmless. It’s letting competitors capture your audience, eroding trust, and limiting growth, all while thinking, “It’s fine, we’re okay.”

Showing up online isn’t optional anymore, it’s survival.

4 things I say to business owners who feel invisible on social media… but want leads to actually show up.

If you want more inquiries, #3 is the kicker.

1. Your social media is your digital storefront, treat it like it matters.
If someone stumbles on your profile and it’s outdated, inconsistent, or just “meh,” they’ll move on… even if your service is incredible. Social media isn’t optional anymore. It’s the first impression your future customers see and it can either open the door or shut it completely.

2. Attention spans are short, stop talking, start showing value.
Your audience decides in seconds whether they care. Stop explaining how great your business is and start showing tangible value. Share tips, behind-the-scenes, results, testimonials, give them a reason to stop scrolling and actually engage.

3. Competitors are winning with half the experience and twice the personality.
It’s frustrating to watch competitors with less skill or knowledge get all the attention, because they’re relatable, entertaining, and visible. The truth? Being invisible isn’t about lack of talent; it’s about lack of strategy, consistency, and storytelling. Your experience matters, but it won’t matter if no one sees it.

4. Video is king, Canva graphics are invisible.
Still posting only graphics or stock images? That’s like leaving money on the table. Video doesn’t just grab attention, it builds trust, shows your personality, and keeps people coming back. Without it, your brand blends in with everyone else.

The bottom line…

Leads don’t magically show up. Visibility, clarity, and value-driven content are what make them stop, pay attention, and take action.

Stop posting for the sake of posting, start posting with purpose.

When someone says ‘just stay consistent’… on social media I cringe.

Posting more doesn’t equal marketing better.

Posting once or twice a week is technically consistent… but consistency without a strategy is just noise.

Consistency alone doesn’t create results. Clarity does.

If you don’t know:
– who you’re talking to
– what problem you’re solving
– what each piece of content is supposed to do

…posting more often won’t fix it.

That’s why “just stay consistent” is bad advice.
Strategy comes first. Consistency simply supports it.

Showing up regularly with the wrong message doesn’t build trust, it confuses people. And confused people don’t convert.

This is why we build the strategy before we ever schedule a post.

I did two things today that scared the s**t out of me.

One of them I can’t share yet. That one’s for Morton Marketing 417 and will stay a surprise until fall 2026.

The other… this one I can tell you about.

I’ve loved storytelling for as long as I can remember.

I started theater in grade school and somehow kept finding my way back to the stage.

Theater gave me permission to be expressive. To be vulnerable. To try on different versions of myself.

And then… I walked away from it.

Fear, probably. Fear of rejection. Fear of not being good enough. Fear of looking back at parts of myself I’ve worked really hard to avoid.

Truthfully, I’ve had a rough relationship with younger Christine. I’ve blamed her for a lot of my trauma. Somewhere along the way, it felt easier to just shut the door on her altogether.

This year, I’m trying to do something different.

I keep saying I want a business and a life, but if I’m honest, my entire world has revolved around my business. And yes, I’m proud of what I’ve built. I have an incredible team and clients I genuinely care about. But I’ve felt unfulfilled as a human.

As part of my trauma therapy, I’ve been encouraged to reconnect with Christine. To talk to her. To find her voice again.

And what better way than theater, the thing I loved when I was a little girl, right in the middle of everything that hurt?

So I signed up.

I start a six-week, night adult acting class at Springfield Little Theatre. At the end, Keenan Vogt will get to come watch me perform a short monologue I’ve been working on.

I’m scared. Scared of what might come up. Scared I’ll make excuses not to go. Scared I’ll crack open and feel too much. Scared I’ll cry in front of strangers.

But I’m also excited.

Excited to find myself again. Excited to do something that’s just for me. Excited to let expression exist without productivity attached to it.

Maybe I’m writing this for permission.
Maybe I’m writing it to finally take a full breath.

Either way, I’m here. And I’m letting myself heal.
