THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

The desert teaches us more about water than the ocean does. If you visit the desert, you appreciate the importance of water.

When we have everything, we appreciate nothing and take everything for granted but when we have nothing, we appreciate everything and take nothing for granted.

Abundance makes prudence valueless while scarcity makes frugality valuable. It is important that we value what we have.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

At old age, death can happen without a signal, a warning or a sign. It can just happen spontaneously.

Many people don't get the chance to say their last words. As such, they go with a lot of unspoken words.

Our parents need us to visit them and not just to call or send money. How many times have we spent a night with our parents in the last 5 years?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Marriage is not a destination, a dream realised or a prayer answered, it is a journey of life, faith and destiny.

Marriage is a call to duty and a commitment to certain ideals that might not be pleasant to everyone.

People who see marriage as the solution to their problems often get disappointed when they get into marriage.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

How fulfilled do we feel attending funerals of those we ignored for many years when they were alive and probably sick?

These days, we prioritise funerals over fraternity just to prove solidarity. This is gradually becoming a norm in the society.

If we cannot visit our parents, friends or relatives while alive, it doesn't make sense travelling long distances to bury them.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Sometimes, you have to let people win arguments not because they are right but because you need to protect your mental health.

Arguments are supposed to be meaningful engagements and not meaningless and unhealthy distractions.

Any argument that is costlier than peace of mind is too costly. Choosing peace over chaos is the first step towards serenity.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Sometimes, you need to disappoint people to live a good life. Dishonest people would be disappointed when you live an honest life.

Negative people would be disappointed when you live a positive life and fake people would be angry that you are real.

If no one is angry with the way you live your life, it means that you are not living a good life.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

According to Jim Rohn, "Don't spend major time with minor minded people". They would gradually make you to become narrow minded.

"People doing nothing would want you to do nothing with them and people going nowhere would want you to go nowhere with them".

If you want to change your life, then change your relationship. Your network is your net-worth.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

The relationship between water and gold in human value system is pathetic. Water is essential to human survival but gold is not.

And yet, water is used while gold is valued, water is wasted while gold is preserved and water is cheap while gold is expensive.

What makes the difference is availability. If you make yourself too available for people, they would treat you like a trash.

Be scarce once in a while.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Normal thinking can keep us going but it cannot make us great.
The only way to become great is to think beyond normal.

Moving round a circle is a movement but not an improvement.
It would always return us back to the starting point. That is not progress.

Normal thinking is a pattern of reasoning that conforms with comforts and keeps us within a predictable range of outcomes.
