I’m going to be honest—I’m guilty.

I was doing the same things and expecting a different result.

My body is changing in midlife, and what I’ve realized is… it’s not a one-time shift. It keeps evolving. But I was still approaching it the same way I always had—same workouts, same habits, expecting it to work like it used to.

It wasn’t.

And I had to get honest with myself about something:

I had gotten comfortable.

I was tolerating a version of my routine that wasn’t giving me the results I wanted anymore.

The shift came when I decided that if I want a different result, I have to do something different.

That meant stepping out of my comfort zone—and that’s where everything started to change.

I wrote about this in real time here:

If you’ve been feeling this too, I think it will really resonate with you.

It’s not just your body that’s changing—it’s your standards.

AI can make you look iconic.

But becoming her in real life?

That’s different.

If getting dressed feels harder than it used to…
it’s not because you lost your style.

It’s because your style hasn’t caught up to who you’ve become.

Have you noticed a shift?

I can usually tell where a woman lives by the colors in her closet.

Seattle?
Black, gray, navy.

New York?
Black, but sharper. More contrast.

Los Angeles?
Cream, white, soft neutrals.

Phoenix?
Color. Bright, warm, expressive.

Dallas?
Polished, feminine, bold.

And here’s what most women don’t realize…

They’re not actually choosing their style.

They’re choosing what they’re used to seeing.
What feels normal.
What fits in.

I did the same thing.

I wore black for years because that’s what you wear in Seattle.
It felt safe. Professional. Easy.

Then I moved to Phoenix… and everything changed.

Not me.
The colors around me.

That’s when I realized:

What’s common around you…
is not always what works on you.

That’s why your outfits can feel slightly off, even when everything technically matches.

When your color is right:

Your skin looks clearer
Your features stand out
Your outfits finally come together

And you stop second guessing everything.

I wrote the full breakdown here:

Your style is the culmination of your thoughts about yourself.

This is something I’ve taught for years.

And in midlife… you don’t just think it.

You wear it.

At some point, what used to work doesn’t feel the same anymore.

Most women assume it’s their body.

It’s not.

There’s something no one really talks about…

At some point, the razor just stops working the way it used to.

And suddenly you’re thinking—
what is happening?

For me, it turned into a bigger realization:

What used to work… doesn’t always work the same in this season of life.

And instead of ignoring it or feeling ashamed,
this is your moment to decide—

What do I want now?

We’re heading into spring and summer…
and for a lot of women, this is one of those things we think about.

Not from pressure.
Not from judgment.
From intention.

I wrote about this (yes… including the waxing conversation and my daughters’ opinions 😅) in my latest article.

Because these small decisions? They’re never just small.

They shape how we show up.

These are the conversations women are having privately—
but rarely saying out loud.

Had lunch at this lovely place with an even lovelier friend ✨

Thinking a lot lately about how much changes in this season of life…
and how we get to change with it.

I can’t believe I’m saying it, but my 50s are my favorite phase of life.

I didn’t always feel this way.

Not because it’s easy — it’s not.

But because I know who I am.

What I’m willing to do…
and what I’m no longer available for.

I’m here for the women who refuse to be invisible in midlife.

If you’ve been wearing the same colors your whole life… and suddenly they’re washing you out…

It’s not in your head.

And it’s not “just aging.”

Your color harmony may have shifted.

One of the biggest things most color systems miss?

Your hair.

As your hair changes in midlife—whether you lighten it, deepen it, or embrace gray—it changes your contrast, your brightness, and how color reflects onto your skin.

Which means the colors that once worked… might not anymore.

This is why so many women open their closet and feel that disconnect.

Something feels off.

And the instinct is often to buy more.

But the real shift isn’t about more clothes…
It’s about realignment.

I wrote about this (and why it happens) in an article yesterday.

I painted my front door red recently.

It made me realize something about style.

When it came to fashion, I always trusted my instincts. But when it came to my home, I often looked to what others were doing… what was trending… what the new builds looked like.

And it made me realize something.

In many ways, it’s exactly what my clients experience with their style.

They go out into the world looking for answers. Looking at magazines, influencers, stores, trends.

But the truth is their style was inside them all along.

Sometimes it just takes someone to help them see it.

I wrote about it yesterday.

You stand in front of your closet and something feels off.

The pieces still “fit.”
They’re still nice.
But they no longer feel like you.

Most women assume it’s their body.

It’s not.

It’s that your life evolved — and your style didn’t.

I wrote about this today.

On a day centered around love, here’s something no one says out loud:

When was the last time you dressed like you were in love with the woman you’ve become?

Not the woman you were five years ago.
Not the version of you who was still proving herself.
Not the “safe” version.

The woman you are now.

Successful.
Seasoned.
Visible.
Certain.

Your wardrobe should feel like a love letter to her.

Not “fine.”
Not acceptable.
Not just polished.

Aligned.

If you’ve outgrown more than just your goals… you already know what I mean.

Be Iconic.

Successful women like you don’t struggle with style.
You struggle with too many options.

Not because you lack taste —
but because you’re carrying too many choices alone.

What to wear when you’re asked to speak on TV
or invited to guest on a podcast.
What reflects your level now.
What feels polished without trying too hard.
What no longer deserves your energy.

Less volume.
More gravity.

You don’t need a makeover.
You need the Icon Standard.
